ROJAVA, WESTERN KURDISTAN

PYD General Assembly made a written statement regarding the fire on İmralı island. The statement released by PYD is as follows:

“The fact that a fire broke out in Imrali today has rightfully created great suspicion and anxiety in us and our people. It is especially striking that this fire broke out on the anniversary of the Dolmabahçe talks. For this reason, this situation increases the doubts and anxieties of us and our people as much as it is not regular.

Therefore, we emphasize our concerns about the situation of both us and our people, Leader Abdullah Öcalan as a party, and we are waiting for lawyers to go to İmralı as soon as possible and make an explanation to address these concerns.

To our people; We call for action in all areas until a lawyer meeting with Leader Abdullah Öcalan is held in İmralı and a statement is made affirming that his safety and health status is unharmed. ”
