ANKARA, TURKEY
Inan Avşar, a Math teacher of 15 years, committed suicide shortly after posting a 13-minute video about the injustices of the capitalist system and why the system needs the public to believe they are happy. The corpse of Avşar, who committed suicide in his vehicle in Batıkent, was transported to the Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK).
In the video he uploaded to YouTube the day before putting an end to his life, Avşar criticized the education system, drawing attention to the policies of the terrorist Turkish state. Avşar explained: “Do not send your children to school. Your child’s brain is being washed. I am a 15-year educator, and I entered this job with pleasure. My father was also an educator. I learned a lot from children. But I realized that schools are a complete commercial prison. The children are now being brainwashed there. They try to adapt your children to a ridiculous system. I can no longer look at the children’s faces. I can’t look at their faces, my conscience won’t allow me.”
“In this atmosphere, in this system, this injustice and this poverty,” Avşar explained, “those who tell us our lives are good, that we should be happy are the men of the capitalist order. Think for a moment, if everyone was unhappy, depressed, hopeless, committing suicide, can you benefit from such a person? No, because you cannot exploit such a person, you cannot use them. You would need those who still have energy, who are still fooling themselves, who can still motivate themselves. These men will work so you can live off their backs.”
