CENTRAL NEWS
Kurdistanis and their friends in Europe poured to the streets in dozens of cities against the supposed forest fire that broke out in the morning on the island of Imrali on a winters day, where all three prisoners and the leader of the People, Abdullah Ocalan are being held hostage.
Today, Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger and Jinên Ciwan ên Azad made a ‘mass-demonstration’ call, to take uninterrupted action until the news is received from the peoples’ leader Abdullah Öcalan.
While the actions showed great anger against the fascist Turkish state, the people are demanding that an urgent meeting is held between the peoples’ leader Abdullah Ocalan and his lawyers.
BERN
Kurds and their friends met at the Bahnhofplatz area in Bern, Switzerland with a call for urgent action. Posters of the Peoples’ Leader was carried by thousands, behind a banner reading: “Status for Kurdistan, Freedom for Öcalan”.
Statements were read in German during the action that expressed concerns about Öcalan’s health and life. Kurdish politician Nejdet Atalay said, “We are concerned about the life of Mr Öcalan. As Kurds, we will be in the fields with uninterrupted activities every day until Öcalan meets with his lawyers or a delegation. ”
The action ended with a call for participation in the Swiss central action, which will take place at 14:00 in Zurich Helvetiaplatz on Saturday, February 29.
GENEVRE
Protesters opened the banner saying “If something happens to Öcalan, we will burn the world” in front of the central train station with the call of Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger. Upon the police intervention, the protesters entered the train station and marched here within the framework of civil disobedience.
STRASBOURG
Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger and Jinên Ciwan ên Azad activists who mobilised in Strasbourg France in the evening organized a civil disobedience action to draw attention to the condition of the People’s Leader Öcalan.
Young people opened Öcalan flags in front of the central tram stop in Hommde fer Square and blocked the road. The young people who prevented the trams from moving here frequently shouted slogans of ‘Murderer Erdoğan’, ‘Bijî Serok APO’ in French and Kurdish.
BIELEFELD
A rally was held at the central train station in Bielefeld, Germany, under the slogan “No life without leader Apo.”
The activists stated that the fascist Turkish state was playing with fire and said: ” The fascist Turkish government has not published information especially on the health of prisoners. This deliberate provocative approach has caused numerous marches and rallies worldwide. The Turkish state should know very well that we do not accept a life without a leader and on this basis, the Turkish state is responsible for everything and it will bear its consequences.
The Kurdish people should also know that this is the day to protect Leader APO and the philosophy of the freedom struggle! Let’s not leave the streets empty, it is the day of unification of all democratic organizations! ”
MARSEILLE
An action was organized for Peoples Leader Öcalan, as in many parts of Europe at 17.00, in the city of Marseille, France, by the activists of the TCS.
In the action held before the representative office of the European Union, the slogans of “Freedom for Öcalan” and “Dictator Erdogan” were often shouted in French. Then Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger activists organized civil disobedience at the Marseille train station. Young people who shouted Kurdish and French slogans for a while started from here and marched to the city centre.
The young people walking with the slogans ‘We will destroy the world if anything happens to Öcalan’, stated that they will be in uninterrupted action until news from Öcalan, the People’s Leader.
PARIS
Action was taken in Strasbourg Saint-Denis with the call of the French Kurdish Women’s Movement (TJK-F) and the French Democratic Kurdish Council (CDK-F). Many institutions and foreign political representatives attended the call.
The Kurdish youth who took part in the action carried the “Freedom to Öcalan” banner and the currencies with the picture of People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. In addition, many slogans were shouted against “Dictator Erdogan” in the action.
Necmettin Demiralp, Paris Democratic Kurdish Community Center co-chair, and Şahin Polat, representative of the European Democratic Alevi Federation (FEDA), made a short speech.
In the speeches, it was stated that the fascist Turkish State was responsible for the life and health of Öcalan, and it was stated that the obstacle before Mr Abdullah Öcalan’s meeting with his lawyers and family should be removed immediately. In addition, European countries and related institutions were asked to take immediate action against the isolation imposed in İmralı.
STUTTGART
In Stuttgart, Germany, Kurdistanis and their friends gathered at Schlossplatz square at 18.00, led by Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger (TCŞ) and Jinên Ciwan ên Azad (JCA).
In the action led by the youth, the banner “Freedom for Öcalan” was opened and the flags with the picture of People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan were moved. During the action, many slogans ‘Bijî Serok APO’ and ‘Don’t allow isolation’ was chanted.
On behalf of the activists, Jinên Ciwan ên Azad (JCA) member made a short speech. In her speech, Jinên Ciwan ên Azad (JCA) activist asserted: “We state that we will be in the areas until the family or lawyers of the Peoples’ leader share information about the health of our leadership.”
