KCK, who made a statement about the conspiracy on the 27th of February (yesterday) on the island of İmralı, said that “every event and every kind of approach in a place where Leader Apo is held hostage has a political meaning” and that the lawyers must go to İmralı immediately.
In their statement, the KCK made a call to the public: “Our people should demonstrate their reaction in the strongest way and fill the squares in four parts of Kurdistan and abroad. Our people should be mobilized from seven to seventy everywhere, they should not leave the squares until they learn the truth from lawyers. ”
The statement is as follows:
“On the island of Imrali, where Leader Apo has been held hostage under absolute isolation for 21 years, it was announced by the Turkish state officials that a forest fire broke out. Turkey is experiencing a very critical development and in the region, the Kurdish people are being exposed to genocidal policies everywhere. During a process which is the beginning of the collapse of the AKP-MHP fascist power, everyone has a deep suspicion of the fire on Imrali.
The fact that Turkey was unable to control a forest fire on a winters day, on an island managed with its highest security system, during such an important regional process is thought-provoking and alarming.
Every event and every kind of approach in a place where Leader Apo is held hostage has a political meaning. The Turkish state and the international system are responsible for everything that happens and will happen in İmralı. The İmralı system is a system established and controlled by international powers. In particular, Turkey is a member of the Council of Europe and the Council of Europe is great responsibility connected to the CPT.
The statements made by fascist Turkish state officials who have applied genocide to the Kurdish people and have kept Leader Apo in absolute isolation for twenty-one years have no meaning and value. Our movement and our people do not believe in the statements of this fascist government of the Kurdish enemy.
In this respect, the lawyers of Leader Apo should immediately go to İmralı and explain the facts to our people and the public. Our people, friends, women and youth should not leave the squares before lawyers and families go to İmralı and make a statement. Our people should demonstrate their reaction in the strongest way and fill the squares in four parts of Kurdistan and abroad. Our people should be mobilized from seven to seventy everywhere, they should not leave the squares until they learn the truth from lawyers.
On this basis, we call on our people, peoples, democracy forces, all anti-fascist sections, women and youth to stand up against isolation and to demonstrate their reaction in the most powerful way!”
