HPG (Peoples’ Protection Forces) Press Center announced the identities of two guerrillas who were immortalised. The statement, as released by the HPG, is as follows:
“As a result of an air attack carried out on 28 May 2019 in an occupation operation launched by the invading Turkish army from the Media Defense Areas to the Xakurkê region, 2 of our friends reached martyrdom. The identity information of our friends who have reached martyrdom is as follows:

“The fascsist Turkish state faces the great resistance of the Kurdistan guerrilla in its attempts to occupy Kurdistan territory. Our comrades Demhat and Rojhat who took their place in the historical resistance in the invasion attack that the enemy initiated against the Xakurkê region, pioneered the actions that hit the heaviest blows to the enemy and became heroic fighters.
Our comrades Demhat and Rojhat were shaped in a patriotic environment and personally witnessed the assimilation practices of the fascist Turkish state.
The philosophy of Leader Apo has been a great source of inspiration and our comrades, Demhat and Rojhat, who realized that the guerrilla struggle was the only way to defeat fascism, took their place in the ranks and achieved a high level of participation. Our comrades have successfully fulfilled their duties with great determination and enthusiasm until their martyrdom.
While we extend our condolences to all the patriotic people of Kurdistan, including the families of our comrades who have reached martyrdom, we reiterate the promise that we will crown the Kurdish Freedom Struggle with victory.”
