HPG (Peoples’ Protection Forces) Press Center shared the following details in regards to an action carried out on Martyr Axin Hill in the Xakurkê region of the Media Defense Areas on February 23. The statement shared is as follows:
“Within the scope of Martyr Bager and Martyr Ronya Revolutionary Movement, our forces carried out an action against the occupying Turkish army located on Martyr Axin Hill in the Xakurkê region of the Media Defense Areas on February 23.
In this action, where enemy positions and shelters were effectively hit from 4 arms, a container, position and tent were destroyed. As a result of effective strikes, 8 enemy soldiers who were detected were killed. Following the action, the invading Turkish army removed the dead and wounded soldiers from the area by Skorsky helicopters.
Our unit, which carried out the action, has safely reached base areas.”
Airstrikes
Warplanes belonging to the invading Turkish army carried out airstrikes against the Media Defense Zones. In this context, the HPG shared:
“On February 23, at 16.20, fighter jets bombed the Sinînê area in the Xakurkê region.
On February 24, fighter jets bombed the Golka area in the Metina region and the village of Silê village in the Kandil region between 14.10 and 15.00.
We did not experience any loss in these bombardments.”
A guerrilla immortalised
Sharing details about a guerrilla who has fallen martyr, the HPG shared: “On February 24, our comrade Rezan Cudi (Rezan Kara) reached martyrdom as a result of a serious illness. The identity information of our friend who reached martyrdom is as follows:

“Our comrade Rezan Cudi was born in 1992 in Qileban (Uludere) district of Şırnak in a patriotic environment. Comrade Rezan, who had to migrate to Maxmur with his family from his home country at a young age due to the pressure and persecution of the enemy from Botan, which raised many brave women and men in its chest, witnessed the colonial and fascist policies of the occupying Turkish state at an early age.
Comrade Rezan, who grew up with the patriotic feelings of the region, met the Freedom Movement at a young age and joined the guerrilla ranks in 2012 to actively fight the enemy. Our comrade, who is based on walking on an honorable road to save the lands he was born in from the enemy invasion, has transformed himself into a competent revolutionary militant with the teachings of the Leadership and has exhibited an exemplary militant stance by successfully fulfilling all the duties given by the movement.
Comrade Rezan has a style that deeply influences the comrades around him with his purity, honesty and sincere approach. Comrade Rezan, who has lived with the slogan “Free Leadership – Free Kurdistan” until his martyrdom, has been one of the bouncer examples of PKK militancy.
We extend our condolences to all the patriotic people of Kurdistan, especially the precious family of our comrade Rezan, who has reached martyrdom, and promise that we will cherish the memories of our martyrs by crowning the war of freedom that our martyrs are carrying out moment by moment. ”
