AMED, NORTHERN KURDISTAN

The Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Headquarters made a written statement today about the fire that took place on İmralı Island.

The DBP highlighted that the announcement of “there is no problem” made by the fascist Turkish interior minister, Süleyman Soylu, is non-serious and impermanent.

Emphasising that the fire and the subsequent announcements were worrisome, the Party said:

“We have received intense reactions from our people regarding this situation. In order to clarify the situation, families and lawyers should immediately go to the island, examine the situation on-site and inform the public.

In this regard, we would like to remind the government officials that the health and safety of Mr Abdullah Öcalan is extremely important and vital for the people of the Middle East, especially the Kurdish people. We invite everyone to be responsible for making a statement that will inform the public about this situation correctly. ”
