CENTRAL NEWS
A gale of resistance was sweeping Northern Kurdistan. In Sur, Cizir, Gever, Hezex, and Nisêbîn… A shocked Turkish state would be brought to its knees. Street by street, house by house the youth of Northern Kurdistan would protect their honour against the invading enemy. Ingraining their names into history, an exhausted people would be revived with the idea of autonomy, of a life worth living. Thus, the resistance would begin.
Written by Martyr Zeryan Deniz Amed, a commander of the resistance, the translated Şırnex diaries will become a window to the reality of the heroes on the ground.
“Bury the martyrs in your heart, not in the ground,” the Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
21-03-2016 – Day 8 of the Resistance
Today we attacked the enemy again. Violent clashes erupted in İskender, ____ , and Şehr-i nuh. Berivan is injured. Conflicts continue. The doctor friend wrote a note, they said we gave two martyrs. Baz and Mazlum are martyred… Here is our Newroz…
22-03-2016 Day 9 of the Resistance
The attacks continue. Houses and buildings are falling on us. Everywhere, debris, pressure, my mouth, my nose, my ears bleed. I’m standing just to make sure no one gets affected, but I’m fine. The enemy advances a little more every day. The doctor friend was martyred yesterday. The young people are affected. But I won’t leave the Dicle, no matter what. Conflicts continue intensely. But they always hit with tanks and mortars. It was more violent today, as if they used a howitzer.
23-03-2016 10th Day of Resistance
We took out the wounded today. I’ve relaxed a little bit. Because there are no treatment conditions. I will send young and struggling friends if possible. From now on, we will actively engage. The rest of the group is a little more predisposed. I’m in a cold basement. I’m cold, but not because of the cold…
24-03-2016 11th Day of Resistance
Sirnak is completely dark. At night, the fire of the tank and mortar shines. One by one, all the houses are shot. Sirnak is in complete ruin. This war is not being fought chest to chest, it is being fought against the high technology of the TAF. They come in tanks, hedgehogs, cobras and fully armoured vehicles. Those who come out, run back to their places with the sound of bullets. The enemy gets his power from his technique. Even this shows that the enemy is finished. Even if we die like this, we’re the winners and the victorious.
The assassins have settled in the houses. In the houses, they open small gratings and shoot. Under the supervision of the armoured vehicles, they are moving on house by house, destroying each as they move on. How cowardly.
Since yesterday they have only been hitting with heavy weapons. I heard about the martyrdom of Gulan and her group on the device. They were martyred after being wounded. A missile was used. I don’t know the details. We went to reorganize. Dicle will not fall easily.
Yesterday I saw a wounded kitten. He took a piece and didn’t know where to run, making strange noises.
The funerals of our martyred friends are now on the ground. We have no conditions to hide anyone. Nobody’s going to pick them up. Baz, Hekim, Jiyan are just on the ground.
Today is Gule’s martyrdom anniversary. I seek refuge in the sanctity of the martyrs.
Successful and always winning…
27-03-2016 Day 14 of the Resistance
We had to leave another line today. The enemy is advancing. Tanks and armoured vehicles drove over the mines, the mines did not explode again. A group of friends noticed the enemy and began to shoot intensively. We hardly made it with the group. Cudi’s foot was very heavily injured, the assassins shot him in the foot. The foot bone is broken. The friends carried him away from the conflict on their backs. We transferred him to Cumhuriyet, but it’s just a burden. Injured by our insufficiencies, he is both timid and arbitrary.
Now, we’re staying in Dicle.
I can hardly keep friends here. Everybody wants to leave Dicle. Weird psychology. When I oppose them, they react against me. But Demhat is a brave young man. Sefkan always has high morale. He is not a guerrilla, but you can give him the responsibility of a front. His father is a martyr and he has children. But he has a fighting spirit.
28-03-2016 15th Day of Resistance
The tanks are now in the middle of the neighbourhood. They destroyed the barricades. We used a heavy B-7 but couldn’t hit. Our location was revealed and all the rockets came upon us. We’re looking for a place to hit, but we’re in an ambush. Rezan was slightly injured in his ear. Other than that, we’re fine. Since every friend moves, we are targetted with bullets. There is a different problem every hour. The neighbourhood is very messy. We didn’t realize how at first. We were wrong to say that Dicle is the most powerful neighbourhood.
The ammunition is scattered everywhere, we’re already left without supplies.
But today the enemy came and for the first time and they sent a message to ask us what to do. Does a real militant ask this question? How many times have I left by myself to go and shoot the enemy?
I feel lonely here. I take refuge in the hearts of my fallen comrades in Dicle. Their big hearts give me strength. We also pulled Demhat’s group. Their location was very risky, when they came they informed us about an action, they shot a house, everyone held high morale. Demhat is one of those who analyses the enemy.
29-03-2016 The 16th day of the resistance
I’ve got a great attitude against the friends now. I said we wouldn’t leave Dicle even if we were dead. How many times have they sent us news? We only have a few buildings in our hands and the enemy knows about them so it shoots intensely.
We need to review our situation with the latest attacks. We have to strengthen Dicle and Cumhuriyet. I went around the middle route looking to strengthen manoeuvring area and positioning. After looking at a few places I came to Cumhuriyet. I saw Helena. She was worried after I sent her my bag and my device. She was relieved to see me. Comrades Tolhıldan and Aziz were wounded. I went and saw Tolhıldan. I thought his injury was light. His foot is at the point of rupture. Cemal asks, “We should cut off his feet” I went and looked. Tolhıldan’s face is white. Only with trembling lips, he could forcefully say “Zeryan”. Then I left. Helena and I went through some positions. At around 20.00, Tolhıldan was martyred. I could never believe that Tolhıldan would be martyred like this. He stood out with his blind courage and fearlessness. Although there were losses, he created the concentration of war everywhere he went. He was a commander whose space would be difficult to fill, comrade Tolhıldan.
