SDF General Commander Mazlum Ebdi affirmed that 3,286 people from North and Eastern Syria are missing, stating that an Investigation Committee was formed to look into the fate of those who have possibly been abducted by the various gangs or the jihadist Turkish state.
Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) General Commander Mazlum Ebdi published that the fate of 3,286 people remains uncertain. Those who are believed to have been abducted by the various gangs and organizations are to be searched for by an Investigation Committee. The perpetrators and structures behind the abductions are set to be punished, Mazlum Ebdi shared, adding that the commission would expose the perpetrators and share further details with the public.
Mazlum Ebdi stated, “it is our duty to take responsibility for missing persons. Currently, the fate of 3 thousand 286 people is unknown. They have been kidnapped from the Kobanê, Efrîn and Cizre regions. 544 of these were kidnapped by ISIS, 2,368 by the Syrian Watan Alliance groups and 378 by Syrian regime security sources. And 8 of them have disappeared in the areas under our control.
We have established an Investigative Committee on the disappearances in areas under our control to identify and punish persons involved in these crimes. The results will be shared with the public as soon as possible. ”
