BEHDİNAN, SOUTHERN KURDISTAN
We shared the first part of our interview with PKK Central Committee Member Kasım Engin on 12 January. In the second part of the interview, Engin discussed Private War and Virtual, or ‘Social’ as some may call it, Media.
The second part of the evaluation is as follows:
Virtual Media is the place where the Private War is most effective, and a virtual youth has emerged. What kind of tasks does the psychological warfare department take on in the virtual environment? And in what ways and methods do they carry out these tasks?
“Addressing the exploited senses mentioned previously, we see that a huge effort is being spent in the virtual world. Through virtual media, the sexuality of the youth is stimulated, encouraged to consume and imposed a life in which an individual thinks only of themselves.
Moreover, this virtual world is the most comfortable way of breaking a person away from society. Again by promising a new life in the virtual world, the individual is being detached from themself and their societies, developing a terrible individualization. The essence of capitalism is essentially directed to create a severed individual in society. In this context, Virtual Media or the Virtual world is the most heightened capitalist experience.
The Kurdish People’s Leadership says “the Social phenomena are the phenomena that construct.” In other words, there is human labour in the formation of a society. This means it can build people, affect people, it can direct people. Of course, on the contrary, this phenomena can be manipulated detaching human beings from themselves.
This is the most Virtual Media can do. This is the most effective weapon against the Kurds and in particular against the Kurdish youth, as the Turkish strategists know.
The virtual world is virtual by name, so it is fake. One aim of the sovereigns is to want to reveal a false and unyouthful youth. They are disconnected from their realities by establishing lives based on fake ties and a fake world.
For this, those who are embedded in the virtual world do not carry the characteristics of standing behind their words, or standing behind their words with their actions. Because they are detached from the realities of life.
Those who live in the virtual world, because of their nature in relation to a screen, can not acquire life-empowering and will-strengthening life experiences. They reveal to have extremely weak personalities.
If we pay attention today, millions of unemployed young Turks in Turkey are hungry. There are millions of people starving again. As life becomes increasingly unbearable, not a single voice is able to speak out against this. The resulting voice is a virtual one.
When the gasoline riot was sparked in Iran, people flooded to the streets. There was a theft in Şile and the public poured to the streets. The streets complained because of unemployment in Lebanon. In that famous Arab Spring, the young university student Muhammad set his body on fire against the increase of bread prices in Tunisia.
While most of the world rises up for an increase in the prices of bread, in Turkey there has not remained a type of product which has not been drastically raised in price. In fact, it has reached a stage where people are now being sold. And still, not a sound is made by the peoples of Turkey. This is, of course, a result of the private war. It is the imaginary, false, and virtual world that has been created. And, of course, it is Nationalism, which is artificially created, Religiousism, that is Green Turkism. Who can deny that this has nothing to do with the one-on-one Special Warfare being carried out?
As a subheading of the Private War, the Turkish state has now formed a comprehensive commitment in creating and directing of perception. With the tens of units it has created, thousands of accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) in different costumes (fascist, KDP, patriot, etc.) How can awareness be raised on the huge game which is being played?
What is Perception management? Perception management is the dissemination or discontinuation of selected information by affecting the emotion, thought, purpose and logic structures of the masses. In this way, the behaviour and thoughts are directed as desired. Perceptual management involves the use of various ways to make visible the desired part of the facts, to ensure operational security, to conceal reality and to psychologically design and portray operations. In this respect, it is imperative that these actions be carried out in a dialectical bond and in integrity.
And, of course, this perception management is used most effectively in the field of communication.
In this context, managing perception is managing communication. To convince the target audiences and to ensure that these audiences view all developments from the eyes of the private warfare executives. Perception management is applied under terms such as social engineering, psychological operations, persuasion and propaganda. Perception management is the production, reproduction and management of messages to be given to the target audience/public in general.
The main purpose of private and psychological warfare is to intervene in the spiritual field of the human and try to manipulate it. And with this manipulation, it tries to make the individual and society a backup of the state. In this context, the main objective is to make the state an individual and a society. If the individual and society have been turned into a state, humanity is finished.
Wherever we look at in the world, there is so many lies, theft, so much profanity, so much blood-sucking and scorning. So many communities are starving on a daily basis and the end result is either that people starve to death or they commit suicide. And on the other hand, there are the few who live in palaces and feast on the hunger of the many.
Indeed, nowhere in the world, will the people accept a regime that plays with their dignity. However, the Turkish people have been carrying this power above their shoulders for 18 years, often worshipping it. Including those who say they are against the so-called power.
Obviously achieved with the great Private and Psychological War, today, this weapon is in the pocket of every teenager for espionage. In that famous phrase of Islam, the Private War is as close to the person as their carotid. In the past, private warfare elements would have organised and educated individuals and sent them into society to influence members of the public. Now our young people reach their pockets to access this psychological warfare any moment they like.
For example, they have tried to assimilate Kurds for decades. With such assimilation and enormous resistance to genocide, this assimilation and genocide were stopped. As a matter of fact, the effects of this type of war can be seen clearest through the Kurds. Nowadays, Virtual Media has an assimilation and genocide device in the pocket of every teenager who carries it voluntarily. And if we pay attention, with this subconsciously directing Virtual Media, the Kurds have started to be assimilated more than ever.
Interestingly, we can see a similar situation in the South Behdinan area. For example, a segment of people acquires wealth on wealth while a segment of the people is miserable. Again, sometimes in the south, for example, we look at the apocalypse in Sulaymaniyah, Behdinan, there is not a single voice. It is difficult to say that all of the people accept what this power is doing. We saw in the Şeladızê Resistance that the people in Behdinan were not like this. However, these situations only occur when the knife rests on the bone. Despite the fact that dozens of guerrillas are being slaughtered on a daily basis on the grounds of friendship with the Turkish state, sometimes there is no sound being made.
There are, of course, reasons for this. The more a society has been turned into a state, the more the reflexes of the society have died down. Our society is no longer a society. There is no doubt that this is done by pressure, difficulty, intimidation and starvation as well as controlling the throat, ie Bio-Power. And, of course, in recent years, the virtual world, which is developed on the basis of a total bombardment, is effective. It is almost instantaneously that the AKP regime bombards the Turkish people by virtual means. The similarities between this situation and the boiled-frog experiment are repulsive.
When a frog is directly thrown into hot water, by reflex it will throw itself out of the water very quickly. However, when a frog is left in warm water, if the temperature of this water is raised very slowly, the frog will eventually boil itself. Because the frog did not feel that a slight increase in the temperature, that hot water became his death by paralyzing him.
Perhaps the best example of the paralyzing impact of the virtual world on the youth is the Boiled Frog.
Note that while the south is extremely closed to assimilation, through the Virtual World or with Virtual Media, the Kurdish language us being jeopardized. English words are being added to the original Kurdish vocabulary. The use of words such as “Flight Cancel bû, past bike, information, family mall” is essentially indicative of how a language gradually deteriorates.
How will the Special and Psychological War be opposed then?
Moreover, how will the countermeasure or counter-struggle against Virtual Media be carried out? Many questions can be asked.
There is, of course, much to do, but the first thing that must be done is to return to the natural life. As an individual, one must see their own weaknesses and struggle against these on the basis of nurturing spiritual psychology. It is choosing a life for itself that is one on the inside and the outside. Moreover, it is to strengthen itself on the basis of serious awareness. That is to be your true and actual self.
And of course, more can be done to reach the young people who are under the influence of the Virtual World. Publications should be shared to frustrate the Private and Psychological War to bring our youth back.
For example, the AKP uses Trolls very widely through the KDP. What is a Troll? Troll is where thousands of people from a centre create pressure by directing society over a topic. The AKP is really doing this consistently. He puts his opponents on the agenda with a bombardment that doesn’t actually have a primer. The KDP is doing the same.
Now the Youth Press is very strong, especially in the virtual media. By spreading the truth everywhere, with thousands of messages per hour being shared with the world on a daily basis, people can go on and expose these lies one by one. And, of course, they can expose those who are hostile to Kurdish, bring clearness to the national unity.
In the past they used to define the press as the fourth power, but with Virtual Media, the press is no longer the fourth power, but the first and most influential. Knowing this, every Kurdistani youth should be highly sensitive to assimilation and expose those who are hostile to the Free Kurds in Virtual Media and spread their freedom first to Kurdistan, then to the Middle East and then to the whole world, to our real world.
