BEHDİNAN, SOUTHERN KURDISTAN
The Peoples’ Protection Forces (HPG) shared a written statement about guerrilla actions and conflicts. The description of the HPG is as follows:
“As part of the Cenga Heftanin Revolutionary Movement in the Heftanin Region, one of the Media Defense Areas, our forces organized an action against the occupying Turkish army located on the Partizan Hill at 1 pm on 1 January.
Enemy positions and shelters were effectively shot and two soldiers were killed. Following the action, the invading Turkish army randomly bombarded the area with heavy weapons.”
Civilian Murat Kaya was killed by Turkish soldiers by purpose
“On 6 December 2019, the occupying Turkish army started an operation in the Soğukpınar village of the Tutak district of Ağrı. On the same day, there were intense clashes between our unit from the morning to noon and the occupying Turkish army. 3 soldiers were killed and 10 soldiers were injured in these clashes. Three of our friends who fought heroically against enemy forces were martyred by sacrificing themselves and fighting until their last bullet. The invading Turkish army also consciously targeted and murdered a civilian named Murat Kaya, who lived in Soğukpınar village. The identity of our friends who reached martyrdom will be shared with the public later.”
