The Public Defense Center (HSM) Headquarters of the guerrilla army HPG has announced a balance-sheet of the war in 2019. The description, as shared by the forces, is as follows:
2019 has been a year of total resistance against the oppression and attacks of the fascist Republic of Turkey for the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla and our people, becoming a very important year for the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle.
In 2019, the fascist-genocidal AKP-MHP regime, which aims to abolish Kurdishness, tried to deepen the concept of dirty war by further mobilizing all its power. Against this fascist mentality, which disregards human dignity and takes every opportunity of massacre against the Kurdish people, the Kurdistan Freedom Movement has shown relentless resistance.
The fascist AKP-MHP government suffered severe frustration and loss in 2019 when they entered the country claiming to completely annihilate the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla. Against all the technical advances of the Turkish army, the guerrilla of Kurdistan increased their impact in war with the new tactic of the era and hit the Turkish army with heavy blows.
The fascist Republic of Turkey, trying to conceal the reality of the war and trying to conceal its failure with various games, could not hide the results of the war with the psychological operations it carried out through the media. The failure of the Turkish soldier against the guerrilla was documented for the whole world. The most concrete examples of this have been the dozens of war images recorded by the guerrilla. The most accurate and simple form of the war in Kurdistan was announced to the public by the HPG Press Contact Center and the whole reality of the war was shared with our esteemed people.”
In the statement of the Command, the following details were pointed out:
“While the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla tried to implement the new style and tactic in accordance with the spirit of the new era on the basis of the guerrilla of the 21st century, while defending the territory of Kurdistan in 2019, the guerrilla did not give way to the Turkish army and hit the enemy with heavy blows.
The invading Turkish state, which faced the resistance of the guerrillas in the Zap – Zagros line, especially in the Xakurkê resistance, Serhat, Botan, and lastly in the Cenga Heftanin resistance, suffered a heavy defeat. While our struggle for freedom continued to develop and showed great resistance during the 2019 resistance process, fascism and colonialism implemented by the Turkish state suffered defeat and suffered failure.
2019 was also the year of great resistance and heroism for the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle. Coming together with the leading militants of the sacrificial apo spirit, our rising resistance was led by Comrade Helmet, heroic commanders such as Çiçek, Fikri, Helin, Evin, Botan, Sinan, Demhat and Cemil. The resistance developed under the leadership of all our heroic martyrs has frustrated all the attacks of the fascist Turkish state, has maintained its own positions, and has brought the ground to the next level by creating innovation in the war.
It is seen that the year 2020, which will take its place as a victory year in our struggle for freedom of Kurdistan, will be a year in which important gains and advantages will be created for the revolutionary forces. It is also a reality that World War 3, which is headquartered in the Middle East, will continue in different ways in the coming year. The winning party in this war is not racism, nationalism, dictatorship; it is certain that the winner will have a democratic mentality based on peoples and society and will present the right solutions.
We will turn 2020 into a year in which the fascist AKP-MHP alliance will be totally defeated on the basis of the struggle we have carried out for 42 years under our party, the PKK.
As HPG, we are aware of the revolutionary duty to share the results of the war with the public in terms of reflecting the truths. On this basis, we present the war balance-sheet of 2019 to the general public, with revolutionary greetings and respect:
