QAMIŞLO, ROJAVA
Under the leadership of Yekîtiya Jinên Ciwan (Young Womens Union), hundreds of women marched condemning invasion attacks in Rojava, Kurdistan.
Marching from the Martyrs’ Square in traditional outfits, the young women chanted “We are all YPJ, No to Turkish occupation, and Long live the resistance of young women.” The women emphasised, “We will not leave our land.”
The march turned into a rally at Qiirbek’s Soni junction. Here, the director of the Cizre Region Young Women’s Association, Jiyan Koçer, reitterated that the Turkish army continues to commit crimes against women and children, and condemned the civilian massacre of the Turkish state in Til Rifat.
Jiyan stressed that young women will resist the invasion attacks, and added, “We have gathered here today with the slogan ‘occupation on our land is the occupation on our body’. Erdoğan wants to eliminate our women, children and people with fascism. As young women, we will not allow this and we will resist this fascism until the end.”
