Members of the Yekîtiya Jinên Ciwan (Young Women’s Union), who are active in Rojava and Northern Syria, held annual meetings in every city followed by parliamentary meetings. The young women talked to our agency about their annual meetings and the isolation imposed on the Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Arab representative Ronahi Arin discussed the annual meeting. In her evaluations, Ronahi touched on the attacks of ISIS towards women aiming to destroy society and pointed out that today’s occupation attacks are on this basis. Ronahi’s evaluations are as follows:
“We are leaving behind a year full of resistance and entering a new year in which we will enter into bigger resistances. We held our annual meeting with all Yekîtiya Jinên Ciwan members working in North-East Syria. The meeting widely evaluated last year and the significant gains which were made. The main topic of the meeting was how young women responded to the process and how this could be developed.
At a certain level, the necessary response to the attacks on northern and eastern Syria by young women developed. Especially in the Arab areas of Tebqa, Reqa, Dêra Zor and Minbic, young women came to an important stage in terms of thought. The quest for freedom has become apparent. This search for freedom was not easily achieved. Gratitude to the struggle and thousands of martyrs, it has become today. This struggle is women’s struggle. The negative impacts of the Jaysh al-Hur, al-Watani and ISIS gangs were primarily evident in Arab women. They wanted to destroy society, but they didn’t succeed.”
The middle east will become free with the freedom of Leader Apo
Ronahi Arin expressed the importance of the freedom of the Peoples ‘Leader Abdullah Öcalan:
“The Democratic Nation, the Peoples’ Union and the leader of the freedom is APO. The study conducted in the Arab field evolves around the philosophy of Leader APO. The women who could not stick their heads out of their windows before have become the leaders of the people today. The Arab societies who were drowned in silence before, say ‘No to silence, yes to struggle.’
Today, our Leader, Leader APO, is in heavy isolation. Every day a different attack is carried out through private warfare. It is our duty to take our leadership out of captivity and to provide physical freedom. The freedom of Leader APO is a fundamental line for us. If we do not physically free our Leader from captivity, we will face invasion again.
What is being implemented here today, is the idea and philosophy of Leader APO. We will enlarge our struggle over these principles in the next year. We will enlarge the struggle with the power we get from our idea. In the coming year, we will liberate the Middle East with the freedom of Leader APO. ”
We will fight for the freedom of Leader Apo
PYD Youth Assembly spokesperson Ahin Eli said the following about the isolation of Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Öcalan:
“The Isolation is entering its 21st year. Although all states are trying to aggravate the isolation on Leader APO, Leader APO says that I have not done anything yet and I will do more if I want to. The leadership, which turned İmralı into a school, strengthened the Ideology of Freedom even further. The leadership is developing with the idea of a democratic nation every day, frustrating states.
We, as young women, will grow the ideology of the Leader APO with our struggle. The resistance of the hunger strikes that started in the person of Leyla Güven was successful and we were able to hear from the leadership in a short time. Then the isolation came into play again and continues today. But the isolation will never succeed. As young women, we will fight to the fullest for the freedom of the Leader APO in whatever field. ”
We will increase the fight for freedom
Silan Efrîn, the spokesperson of the young women students, evaluated the isolation on the Peoples’ Leader Öcalan as follows:
“We had discussions in order not to experience the problems experienced by young women in the fields again next year. Undoubtedly, the growth of our struggle is linked to the physical freedom of the Leader APO. With the isolation on Leader APO, they are trying to break the will of women.
The process requires a bigger struggle than that which we are carrying out, and we can see the results of the 42-year freedom struggle in Rojava. For us, 2020 will be a year in which the isolation on the Leader APO is broken and the leadership philosophy grows and we will struggle. One of our aims will be to introduce and distribute the ideas of Leader APO to the whole world.
We appeal to women all over the world, let us raise the struggle for freedom together. ”
