CENTRAL NEWS
A gale of resistance was sweeping Northern Kurdistan. In Sur, Cizir, Gever, Hezex, and Nisêbîn… A shocked Turkish state would be brought to its knees. Street by street, house by house the youth of Northern Kurdistan would protect their honour against the invading enemy. Ingraining their names into history, an exhausted people would be revived with the idea of autonomy, of a life worth living. Thus, the resistance would begin.
Written by Martyr Zeryan Deniz Amed, a commander of the resistance, the translated Şırnex diaries will become a window to the reality of the heroes on the ground.
“Bury the martyrs in your heart, not in the ground,” the Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

We have moved into March. No more spring season. The weather has warmed up, it is precisely the guerrilla period. Even amongst the peoples, it is creating trust in everyone. Now there are the mountains behind us. The resistance in the city is not alone. Even the enemy is moving in fear of it. We still cannot break the passive stance of Şırnak. We are aware. But we fail to take concrete steps.
The enemy’s preparations have increased. They have food and medicine stocks and aim to use many places as outposts. They’re positioning snipers in particular. It seems that if it starts in Şırnak, it will be violent. We’re ready for that. Now we are in Cumhuriyet. New friends came, we discussed and organized.
Havin ran away, this forced our hand. Injured friends finally left the city. But the condition of Delil was not good. The bruises on his feet multiplied, and he was coughing blood. I don’t know if he will make it to his destination because his condition is not good.
In Bahceli, the enemy wounded three people by assassination and all three are civilians.
In the last process, we could not take strong actions. Both the wounded and the holding on to Ismet made us struggle. We have overcome this situation, the time has already passed. All agendas should be left behind and the main agenda will be actions. Or history won’t forgive us.
I’m going to be more active about it.
With love…

For the past few days, bullet sounds are more intense. Psychological war is in full swing. There are people immigrating and young people dropping arms. As the war gets closer, things become clearer. In the words of the leadership, “those who do not understand the spirit of the process are thrown into the wastebasket of history.”
The enemy’s military pile-up has begun. Information received about planned attacks sounds concrete. This time they are genuine. An intense war is waiting for us, for me. If the war starts, organizational problems are overcome and the agenda becomes the war. We don’t determine this, but attacks do.
While war clarifies the individual, it can be a cover for some. That’s what’s going on.
We re-evaluated the situation, reproduced with partial edits. We deployed. We’re reviewing all the preparations. I will meet the first attacks in the Dicle neighbourhood.
We had discussions with Kamuran. We criticized, he greeted it maturely. We are now able to conduct more common work. In this process, even the support of a comrade in the city can give great power to a person. Conversely, it leads to demoralization. There is always a need for correct words and behaviour.
A small randomness can be devastating. One must always share morale with those around. Because the drug of the revolution processes is morale. The rest is betrayal. I will always live with joy, enthusiasm and laughs.

The military curfew started. Today, announcements were made in a row. The whole city was left to us. Not a single civilian. Everyone is gone. The Şırnak society was defeated in spirit, dead in spirit. We will destroy this with resistance. I do not take the departure of the people to heart, what disgusts me is those who give so much importance to material goods that they have taken everything with them. Some even took their doors away. For how many days has the enemy been trying to kidnap their children?
This Kurdish reality, which only thinks of its own child, is already in the grave.
I’m very comfortable. I got a little bad when I parted with the friends. But in a powerful state, we will all fulfil our companionship duties, and all of us will fulfil the responsibility of history.
In such difficult times, the revolutionaries become known. In strong times, everyone is strong. Militancy is evident in difficult times. There were a few accidents a few days ago. Bahoz was injured at first. His condition was heavy, we sent him away. The other day the young Bahtiyar was so. He is still under treatment. In these conditions, the wounded will be the main force.
The commandership has changed. Şiyar came. Azime’s note came at last. I couldn’t write a reply, it bothers me.
Now I’ve moved to the Dicle. A lot of young people have run away. This is the war of the guerrilla. We have a few young people with us, but the guerilla’s courage is still different. Now the war begins.
