HEWLÊR, SOUTHERN KURDISTAN
At the beginning of November, in the Piremegrun district of Silêmanî, Turkish pills were found in a cake. The Dukan District Governor had seized the Luppo brand cakes and sent them to the Ministry of Health for examination.
The District Governor and the Ministry of Health has not yet announced the results of the investigation. However, RojNews has been informed by the Ministry of Import and Export that there were indeed pills in cake and some decisions have been made in this direction.
The spokesman of the ministry, Bextiyar Mela Ehmed, stated that the pill was meticulously and maliciously put into the cake.
Bextiyar stated that these pills have negative effects on the development of children’s brain and intelligence. “I don’t know the name of this pill, the doctors are yet to investigate the substance. According to the findings, the pills have an especially negative impact on the development of the children’s brains,” he said.
Bextiyar pointed out that there are doubts on other products other than cake.
“There are doubts about other products being harmful too. As a result of the necessary inspections, the import of cakes and other products was forbidden. In addition, the existing products were confiscated.”
