SDF Press Center shared details of operations which have been carried out against ISIS cells. The forces shared that many gang members were detained for involvement in smuggling.
The description is as follows:
“Our anti-terrorist units carried out a comprehensive operation following a long-term technical and physical follow-up to a smuggling network operating in the Dêrezor region for the supply of weapons and ammunition to the dormant cells which continued terrorist attacks against civilians in the region.
Our forces targeted the logistics lines and the networks involved in the operation, in which the ISIS cells provided ammunition used in the terrorist attacks. This network was collapsed with the successful operation.
A large number of gang members were detained as well as many people found to be involved in smuggling. Our troops also confiscated large quantities of materials, weapons, rockets, communication equipment and organizational documents used in the construction of explosives.
With the successful operation, many attacks prepared by the gang have been prevented. ”
