The SDF Press Center has shared a written statement about the ceasefire violations being committed by the occupying, jihadist Turkish state in Rojava and Northern Syria.
Disclosing that 68 civilians have lost their lives since the ceasefire which was launched on 17 October, the defence forces shared that 214 civilians were also wounded while 64 civilians were forced to emigrate.
“The invading Turkish army, and the gang groups under its direction, continue their attacks intensively and uninterruptedly in order to occupy the territory of Northern Syria and Rojava Kurdistan. Since 9 October 2019, the occupying army has been carrying out interventions against the security and peace of the region with tanks, artillery, fighter jets and thousands of gangs.
The invading army continues its attacks against the areas where no agreement has been reached despite the cease-fire agreement.
Since October 17, gang groups affiliated with the occupying army have attacked the east of Serêkaniyê and the west of Girê Spî with hundreds of heavy weapons. In the attacks, many Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters and many civilian were killed while many people from the region were forced to emigrate.
The cease-fire violations of the occupying army have reached a stage where the invasion areas are continuing to grow with the support of gang groups and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
In this context, the occupying army and gang groups, as of October 17, 2019;
* 143 times attacked our forces or positions belonging to the Syrian army,
* 42 air strikes with UAVs,
* Bombed ceasefire zones and civil settlements with tanks and howitzers 147 times.
68 civilians were killed and 214 civilians were wounded due to the attacks. The invading army occupied 88 villages and hamlets outside the settlement area and settled gang groups in those regions. 64,000 civilians, mostly Christians, had to emigrate due to attacks on these areas. In addition, 6 villages belonging to Assyrians were evacuated due to the attacks. ”
