Reporting live from Kobane, our correspondents have shared that preparations for resistance are intensifying in the region. Detailing the general situation in Rojava, our correspondent also highlighted that the people of Kobane are expecting Erdogan’s attacks with strong determination.
As part of the preparations, make-shift roofs have been hung over the streets of Kobane to disable drone vision, hence, attacks by warplanes. Trenches have been built in almost every street, while further front lines are being built in the city which has become symbolic for Erdogan.
Stating that the people of Kobane are expecting an occupation attack, daily bustle is said to be continuing with confidence.
A trophy
It had previously been exposed in confessions and Intel that the ISIS decision to attack Kobane had been persisted by Baghdadi per Erdogan’s orders, despite disagreement of other members. The jihadist Turkish president had very proudly claimed that Kobane would fall any minute during the 2014 ISIS attacks where the city had been mostly occupied. With only few streets remaining in the hands of the SDF forces, a huge resistance was sparked by the revolutionary people and warriors, who had picked arms in every home to defend their city.
Footage dating back to the period shows mothers and children fighting side-by-side against the jihadists who were less than 200m away, in a war which was very close to being over.
Since then, Kobane has carried a more symbolic meaning for the jihadist state, and has been at the centre of every occupation attempt.
