The people of Qamishlo celebrated the 42nd year of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party with enthusiasm. Our correspondent Cane Cudî extended Nuce Ciwan microphones to the public about their views on the PKK.
The people of Rojava, Western Kurdistan, expressed that “the PKK is the people” and that “the day of the PKK’s founding is the day of Kurdish revival.”
A mother expressed the celebrations as follows: “The Kurdish people have been working for this party for 42 years, we have been martyred, we have worked, we will take part in this party for as long as we live. We’re not quitting! Today is our happy day. It is the anniversary of the only Party which has done everything to protect us even when no one had heard of our names. The invading Turkish state says the PKK and YPG are terrorists. The PKK is not the terrorist, neither is the YPG, but Erdogan himself is.”
Another mother, who spoke to our Corrsepondent, said: “Today, it is the birthday of the Kurdish people. On the day of the establishment of the PKK, the Kurdish people were reborn. The Kurdish people and the PKK are not separate. Just as Erdoğan killed that 6-month-old child and said the PKK did it, we say that the PKK and the people are not separate. No matter who says what, what names they call us, we are from the PKK and the victory will be for the Kurds. ”
