BİELEFELD, GERMANY

PKK guerrillas, Agir Stêrk (Abdullah Osmanoğlu) and Mehmet Axîn (Renas Benek), who were martyred in clashes against the occupying Turkish state, were commemorated in Bielefeld, Germany.

The commemoration, starting with a munites silence in respect of the martyrs of the revolution, saw speeches made by family members of Martyr Agir Stêrk, who had grown up in Europe.

Speaking at the commemoration event, Martyr Agir Stêrk’s uncle shared that “although Abdullah grew up in Europe, he wanted to stand up and fight for his country and people. He never saw himself out of the resistance of his people and the results of the fascist Turkish state’s extermination efforts.

He went with this belief and wanted to take an active part in the struggle and be a part of this revolution – and it happened. I feel deep sorrow for our loss, but at the same time, I am proud of Abdullah’s path to honour. The Martyrs of Kurdistan illuminate our path. We sincerely and gratefully remember them. ”
