ROJAVA, WESTERN KURDISTAN

Tens of thousands gathered in Til Temir, Qamishlo, Kobane and Tirbespiye, as part of the action plan launched on November 25th, the International Day Against Violence Against Women.

The masses chanted “Violence is occupation!” and expressed their support to the YPJ in a march.

TİL TEMİR

In Til Temir, the march which started in front of the Martyrs’ Assembly building, continued with the slogan ”Bijî YPJ” till the local Hospital. Here, a written statement was shared on behalf of the YPJ commandership.

QAMIŞLO

In Qamishlo, hundreds of people marched under the leadership of Rojava Kurdistan and the Northern Syrian Women’s Assembly to support YPJ fighters who resist against the invading Turkish state and its gangs.

During the march that started in the Enteriye neighborhood, YPJ and Kongra Star flags were held along with photographs of YPJ fighters who were martyred in the Cenga Rojava Resistance.

The march turned into a rally at the Soni junction in the city center. Ebir Hesaf, the Syrian Women’s Assembly Coordination Member, made a statement on behalf of Rojava Kurdistan and the Northern Syrian Women’s Assembly. Hesaf stated: “The heroes of men and women in northern and eastern Syria are resisting against the invading Turkish state that is trying to invade the region with all its power, by stealing, plundering, committing massacres, ethnic genocide and trying to change the demography. The Syrian crisis deepened after the attacks launched by the occupying Turkish state on 9 October 2019. The Turkish state attacked the areas where security and peace were ensured under the pretext of safe zone. ”

Speaking on behalf of 53 women’s organizations, Ebir Hesaf stated that they support the YPJ resistance as the Northern Syrian Women’s Assembly. “We will continue to walk on the path of women’s freedom until we reach a democratic and free society.”

TIRBESPIYÊ

In the Tirbespiyê district, Kurdish, Arab and Assyrian peoples marched to support the YPJ. The crowd gathered in front of the Kongra Star building and marched to the district bazaar carrying YPJ flags.

After a minute of silence in the district center, Leyla Iskan and Kongra Star Member, Leyla İbrahim, made a speech on behalf of the Coordination of Women’s Assembly in Northern Syria. During the speeches, the resistance of the YPJ was hailed and it has been stated that since the beginning of the revolution, the YPJ has done its duty to defend women by writing heroic epics.

KOBANÊ

In Kobanê too, many women participated in the march organized to support the YPJ.

Women marched from Martyr Agit Square with YPJ flags and posters of martyrs of the Resistance of Honor, and greeted the resistance of YPJ and Northern and Eastern Syrian women with slogans.

When Jina Azad Square was reached, the march turned into a rally. The press conference of the Women’s Assembly in North and East Syria was read at the rally.

Following the announcement, the rally ended with slogans saluting the resistance of YPJ and SDF fighters.
