BEHDINAN, SOUTHERN KURDISTAN
KCK Peoples and Beliefs Committee stated, “We celebrate the Christmas of the Christian world. We wish that the year 2020 will bring peace and tranquillity to all mankind. We believe that our peoples will increase their democratic struggles in a more powerful and fruitful manner in the new Gregorian year. ”
The message continued: “The Middle East, where Christianity was born and spread to mankind, enters into the 2020 year of war and massacres. In this war, a number of nationalists aim at the Middle East Christian peoples by exploiting the religion of Islam, whose first call is greetings and salvation.
The Turkish sovereigns, who have been active in this war since the Ottoman Empire by massacres, attack the Kurdistanis mostly with their gangs. The Turkish Islamist-nationalist regime led by Erdogan wants to destroy the historical beliefs and cultural values of our people. We call on our people to increase their self-defence struggle against this aggression which will continue in 2020.
In 2019, most of our people in Serêkani and Gire Spî suffered great difficulties and miseries due to the attacks of the Turkish genocide regime. The Turkish genocide regime continues to be a major threat to all the peoples in our region, especially to the Christian peoples in north-eastern Syria. The Turkish genocide regime under the AKP-MHP regime launched a new massacre in October 2019 with its predecessor jihadist gangs, which he called the Syrian National Army. He wants to continue these massacres in 2020 as well.
The religious-nationalist Turkish fascist regime, which targets all our people, especially the Syriac and Armenian peoples living in the north-eastern Syrian territory, continues to be the biggest enemy and threat to the joy and feast of our people. This power, which is hostile not only to the Christian faith but to the Êzdis, Alevis and democratic Muslims, threatens a new people and geography every day.
Thus, it shows once again that peoples and beliefs will not recognize borders in the genocide. The most correct attitude to be taken against genocidal fascist aggression of this character will be the consolidation and strengthening of the unity of peoples and beliefs along the line of a democratic nation.
We hope that this year’s Christmas festival will be a year in which our people will increase their struggles along the lines of a democratic nation and strengthen their unity and brotherhood. We believe that peoples of all faiths living in north-eastern Syria will lead such a struggle based on their own values. With this belief and thought, we celebrate the Christmas festival of the whole Christian world, especially our Syrian and Armenian peoples in northeast Syria and Rojava, defending their lands and habitats.
We hope that the year 2020 will be a year in which all the evils that human conscience and morality do not accept will end, and we wish the democratic nation struggle to be a great year of victory.”
