Two agents of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization were captured in a revolutionary operation carried out by the Martyr Sakine Cansiz revenge unit on 4 August 2017 in the Dukan district of Sulaymaniyah in the Federal Kurdistan Region.
The investigation process of Erhan Pekçetin and Aydın Günel, who are responsible for the National Intelligence Organization’s PKK Desk, was concluded.
The agents have since confessed that the Press Office branch of the MIT impose a ‘Destruction and denial policy’ on all outlets of the press. The Advisory Office, carry out perceptive operations and conduct psychological warfare through the ‘Pool Media,’ it was confessed.

Erhan Pekçetin, one of the MIT’s PKK Desk Officers who confessed, stated that many ways and methods have been tried on the basis of liquidation and destruction of the PKK. “The policies of destruction were used effectively even in the truce periods,” the Agent stated.

Pekçetin continued the confession; “Nuh Yüksel is quite competent, he has the authority to make his own decisions. All press publications are related to the MIT. The Press Office is in constant contact with columnists, journalists and reporters. The Press Office pre-determines and manipulates all the information that needs to be processed so that perception is created on the agenda and society. These are all media organizations that are close to the government, under supervision. Efforts are being made to create an effective perception operation against the PKK through the press.
In addition, “the efforts to refute, frustrate, slander, create antipropaganda against PKK are carried out by the press and media very effectively by conducting psychological warfare,” Pekçetin stated.
“In this sense, perception operation on the masses are used very effectively. This is a private study conducted by the Press Office. Its impact on society is quite evident. The issues to be covered in the sites, television and newspapers are determined and processed by the Press Office. There is a wide network of media organizations with which the Press Counselor is involved.”
Guerrilla families used in special warfare
According to Pekçetin’s statements, it has been revealed that there have been pressures and manipulation games played against guerrilla families, similar to when some families were directed to local HDP buildings to create the notion that the children of these families were abducted by the HDP and taken to the mountains.
Pekçetin stated that guerrilla families were also used within the scope of the psychological warfare under the Press Counselor and expressed the pressures against guerrilla and patriotic families with the following striking statements: “If there is a family that does not want their children to join the PKK, such news is frothed to create a perception operation against the PKK. ”
Confronting the guerrilla resistance, the invading Turkish soldier confessed in regards to the hidden casualties of the occupying Turkish army and said that the operations were carried out in coordination with the General Staff and that the guerrilla losses were exaggerated. Pekçetin stated that this kind of perception was given in the media especially close to the power.
“The operations are shown very successfully. Again, news in favor of the government is required to create a constantly different agenda in the community. Especially through news channels such as A Haber, ATV, which are close to the government, this perception is constantly being created and the agenda is constantly being changed.”
Association with Arab and Kurdish tribes
Pekçetin stated that destruction and denial-based policies have been put into practice in every field against the freedom movement. In this sense, everything has been activated. The democratization policies against the Freedom movement such as Arab tribes in Rojava, secret contacts developed with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in South Kurdistan, relations developed under the name of village guard system, domestic agents and relations are being developed in many dimensions.
“When they are done by means of the press on the basis of psychological warfare, they affect the masses,” the terrorist agent explained.
MIT’s Psychological Warfare Center works on the basis of destruction
Aydın Günel reminded that the AKP-MHP government, which has been constantly defeated by the Kurdistan liberation movement, carried out very dirty mechanisms on the basis of psychological warfare and propaganda, and carried all-out attacks on the basis of destruction and denial and slander, influenced by the psychological perceptions created by the news.
“The Psychological warfare, perception operation is used very effectively and this is a study conducted by the Press Counselor,” Günel said.
“This work is carried out privately by the MIT Press Counselor. Newspapers and televisions are working specifically for the agenda of an issue. The agenda as a whole is determined from a single center here.”
