QAMIŞLO, ROJAVA
The Êzidî House organisation made a statement within the scope of the 25th of November International Day of Fighting Against Violence against Women.
Leyla İbrahim and Lina Xidir Heci read the statement made in front of the Êzidî House building in the Tirbêspîyê district of Qamişlo.
In the statement, the women stated “Êzidî women were the first victims of the massacres. Thousands of women were massacred in the Shengal Massacre in 2014, thousands were abused and thousands were forced to emigrate. After Shengal was liberated, the Êzidî women organized and founded YJŞ (Shengal Women’s Protection Unit).”
The Turkish state and its gangs are targeting free and resisting women in their attacks on the northern and eastern Syria regions. As Êzidî women, we condemn the attacks of the Turkish state and gangs against women. We call on human rights organizations and women’s organizations to demonstrate their reactions to the crimes of the Turkish state.”
The statement ended with slogans.
