The press center of the HPG (Peoples’ Protection Forces) released a statement regarding guerrilla actions and occupation attacks. The description of the guerrilla army shared the following:
“Within the scope of Martyr Medya Mawa and Martyr Rızgar Gever Revenge Operations, our forces organized an action using sabotage tactic against a unit of the occupying Turkish army in the Martyr Botan area of the Hezex (İdil) district of Şırnak on 9 December.
A total of 3 soldiers were killed, 1 of them being a non-commissioned officer, while another was an expert sergeant. 9 soldiers were seriously injured in this action.
Our unit carrying out the action has safely reached base areas.”
Xakurkê
Sharing details of another action, the HPG stated: “Within the scope of Martyr Bager and Martyr Ronya Revolutionary Action, our forces organized an action against the occupying Turkish army located on Martyr Derweş Hill of Xakurkê region from Media Defense Areas on December 13 at 11.00.
The number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be determined in this action where the enemy positions and shelters on the hill were hit accurately.
The invading Turkish army randomly bombed the surrounding areas with fighter jets after the action.
Our unit carrying out the action has safely reached base areas.”
Bombardments
“Warplanes of the invading Turkish army carried out airstrikes against the Media Defense Areas. In this context;
- On 11 December, the fighter planes bombed Martyr Şerif and Sininê areas of the Xakurkê region at 17.00.
- On 12 December, the warplanes bombed the Tepê Sor area of the Avaşin area and the Şikefta Birindara area of the Zap region at around 3 pm.
We did not experience any loss in these bombings.”
