DRAGUIGNAN, FRANCE
The 41st anniversary of the PKK’s establishment was celebrated in Draguignan, southern France, with enthusiasm.
Held by the Kurdistan Cultural Center (CDK-F) and Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger (Revolutionary Youth Movement) in the Draguignan Camp hall, hundreds of Kurds as well as left and socialist organizations and French friends participated.
Posters were hung of the Peoples’ leader Abdullah Öcalan and PKK’s legendary commander Mahsum Korkmaz, as well as PKK, KCK, YPG and YPJ flags.
Starting with a moment of silence in memory of the Martyrs of the Revolution, the performers Beytocan, Kawa Urmiye, Rênas Demhat and Kemalê Amed took the stage.
On behalf of the People’s Assembly, co-chairmen Erdal Mert and Hidayet Ozkan made statements celebrating the anniversary of the PKK. “The PKK came to these days with an honourable struggle, it is our duty to carry our party of forty years to enlargement,” it was stated.
Flippe Deligrini, Secretary General of the Communist Party of the Alpes-Maritimes region of France, said in a statement that they were together with the Kurds in the righteous case: “As French and European citizens, we demand the removal of the PKK from the terror list. Öcalan and Demirtas need to be released, ”he said.
