MEXMÛR, SOUTHERN KURDISTAN
The 42nd year of the founding of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party was celebrated with marches in the camp of Mexmûr, Martyr Rustem Cudi.
The march started in front of the youth center and continued until the mountain of Mexmûr. Mexmûr youth once again celebrated the 42nd year of the PKK with a written statement.
The statement of the youth is as follows:
“First of all, we celebrate the 42nd year of our party PKK, our founder Leader APO, our honorable martyrs, the oppressed peoples and the resurrection of the martyr Rustem Cudi camp.
Our Party PKK has been in a continuous struggle for 42 years. It grew every day and made it’s opinion known to the world. Today it has become a universal party. This is undoubtedly the result of Leader APO’s stance and a struggle that comes with great costs. For this, we once again commemorate our martyrs and reiterate the promise to struggle. Today we renew our promise to our martyrs.
Since the day the PKK proclaimed itself, the fascist Turkish state says it will “end the PKK within 10-15 days,” and it reiterates its promise to this day. For 42 years, the PKK has not ended, but instead, it is growing day by day. Those who said that they will finish the PKK disappeared day by day, like Kenan Evren and Yaşar Büyükanıt. But the PKK is not over and grows more recognized in the world.
Of course, everyone has a personal account of our party. Today, undoubtedly, the states calculate and even fear everything the PKK does. Because the PKK has proved itself with it’s ideology, politics and war. Therefore, all the hegemonic forces are turning to our party. This war is not only conducted against the fascist Republic of Turkey.
Likewise, the obstacles on our camp are an attack on the identity of the PKK. The people living in this camp have been walking along the line of truth line drawn by this organization for the past 25 years. Ambargos and attacks on the camp are attempts to detach us from our identity. These attacks will never succeed. As the youth of this camp, we grew up with the PKK identity and we are proud of it. Here again, we state that the PKK is our cause and our honor.
As the youth of this camp, we will struggle with the ideology given to us by our party, the PKK. Because Leader APO and his comrades developed this idea when they were young and brought it to our day. The youth are the most treasurable for us.
We, as Kurdish youth, are very lucky. We have a leader like the Leader APO and a party like the PKK. While our leadership is in isolation and there are fascist attacks everywhere on our people, we will protect our Party and will walk the path of this resistance stronger.
Our 41st year is over and our 42nd year ahead should be a year of success for us as young people of Mexmûr Camp. Just as those who had vowed to finish the PKK before have not been successful before, they will also be unsuccessful now. Just like Erdoğan and Bahçeli, who claimed that they will end the PKK and have brought their own ends on this journey, there will be many more dictators to come and go. What will remain is the PKK, becuase this movement is more than just an army. It lies in the hearts and subconsciences of all of us.
This year will be our year of success against colonialism, and this task is an honor for the Apoist youth. As Mexmûr youth, we wish everyone success and celebrate the Day of Rebirth.”
