GIRKÊ LEGÊ, ROJAVA
The Women of Rojava gathered in a march to the Girke Lege city bazaar, carrying photographs of Martyr Hevrin Xelef and Mother Aqide. The women held banners reading “violence is occupation! Let us defeat the occupation and fascism with the resistance of the Hevrîns.”
Women, shouting slogans condemning the invading Turkish state and its gangs, marched towards the home of Mother Aqide who was massacred by the occupying Turkish state in Serêkaniyê.
After a minute of silence, TEV-DEM Co-President Zelal Ceger and Congress Star General Coordinator Member Perwin Yusiv spoke.
Emphasizing that the occupation is a type of violence against women, the women said that the invading Turkish state wanted to break the woman’s will by targeting them in Rojava Kurdistan and Northern Syria.
“The women of Rojava Kurdistan and Northern Syria represent free woman, and together they will stand against violence against women,” the speakers said.
The march ended with slogans.
