MÊRDÎN, NORTHERN KURDISTAN
Women students from Mêrdîn Artuklu University came together on campus for 25 November, in an event for the International Day Against Violence Against Women.
The event, which was attended by dozens of women in traditional clothes was blockaded by the occupying police. The students who had gathered in front of the Faculty were told to “go to another place, people ar studying,” by the police.
The women continued to sing and dance halay while playing their erbanes.
