ANKARA, TURKEY
Human Rights Association (İHD) and Student Collectives made a press statement after the fascist Turkish police in Ankara detained a student and imposed they become a spy. The student has not been heard from since.
The University students, during a statement on the topic, stated that “it should be known that, as of today, anything that will happen to any friend of our Student Collectives the Ankara Police Department is responsible for.”
In the press statement made at the İHD Ankara Branch, it was pointed out that the students are kept under pressure with imposition of becomign spies and informants.
Nisan Çıra, a member of the Student Collectives who read the press release, said: “We have continued our determined and stubborn struggle against these obstacles so far.
The political power and the Police, who have not succeeded with the fear policies they have been implementing all this time, should know that these efforts will be wasted. It should be noted that the Ankara Police Department is responsible for anything that may happen to any of our friends from the Student Collectives as of today.
Threats such as oppression, detention, arrest and spying will not be achieved and will not prevent us from our struggle. These unlawful practices towards the university and us should be abandoned immediately. Our struggles up to this time are obvious. We are committed to expanding our struggle in the hope that we will establish an equal, free, democratic university in an equal, free, secular country.
We say once again with the courage we received from this hope, we are not afraid of any of these threats, we will not step back from our struggle, you are the ones who should be afraid of the will of this youth. Because we know that universities are like our country, they do not sit silent.”
