Unmanned Aerial Vehicles belonging to the invading Turkish army attacked Xanesor on November 19 at 10.30 am wounding five fighters of the Şengal Defense Units (YBŞ).
YBŞ, who made a written statement about the attack, reported that one of the wounded fighters, Egîd Şengalî, was martyred.
As YBŞ, “we express our condolences to Şengalî’s family and all the Ezidî people. All these attacks are a plan of the fascist Turkish war apparatus and its collaborator henchmen, who aim to kill and pass the people through genocide. They could not achieve this with ISIS and had to evacuate the land of Shengal. ”
YBŞ reported that Egîd Şengalî, who was martyred, was a patriotic, conscious, brave, self-sacrificing, exemplary Êzidî freedom militant equipped with an ideology of freedom.
The YBŞ called on the Êzidî and Kurdish forces to unite and take a common attitude against the attacks of the fascist Turkish state against Şengal. “Keeping silent on these attacks, not taking an attitude, lack of unity against the bombing of Shengal and not taking a common attitude against the enemies of the Ezidî and Kurdish people is the greatest blunder and betrayal. It is unacceptable that any person who calls themselvese Ezidî and Kurdish remain silent to the enemy attacks in Kurdistan and in Shengal. Whatever their excuses are, it is ultimately a great betrayal.
As YBŞ, this is not the first or last enemy attack which we have faced for defeding Shengal and the Êzidî people, and we will continue to fulfill our duties and protect our people and martyrs from now on, just as we have defended our people and land in the past.
The people of Şengal made their choice and showed this clearly. We call on the government of southern Kurdistan to respect and support the Shengal people’s choice and to stand by the Shengal people and its defensive forces, YBŞ, against any invading attacks.”
