BİELEFELD, GERMANY
Members of the Revolutionairy Youth Movement, Young Womans Freedom Movement and German Leftist Youth took action at the entrance of a Green Party congress to draw attention to the Turkish occupation in Rojava.
The young people, who opened the YPG-YPJ flags, carried a picture of Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Öcalan and a banner saying “Don’t allow the occupation in Rojava.”
The youth members also carried out a flashmob action to describe the civilian massacres in Rojava.
In two speeches by both Kurdish youth and SDAJ, the youth criticised the passive stance of the Green Party in regards to the invasion attacks of the fascist Turkish state against Rojava.
Speaking with the current members of the party, the activists said the answers they received were insufficient and that the party officials were avoiding their responsibilities.
The young activists stressed: “The war begins here, it must end here! Systematic occupation and the destruction by war in Rojava is not only being imposed by Turkey, but by all NATO members who remain silent.”
“We will continue our actions until our demands are met,” the youth declared. The demands, as listed by the youth, are as follows: “all arms exports to Turkey must be ceased immediately, all members must show a clear condemnation of the Turkish aggression, status for Rojava, suspension of all economic, political and military cooperation with Turkey, stop the criminalization of Kurdish organizations, activists and parties, an end to the Germany-Turkey “Refugee Agreement,” the release of all political prisoners in Turkey, a no-fly zone for Rojava and humanitarian aid for the wounded in Rojava.”
