Canadian photographer Joey Lawrence has exhibitted the photographs of over 250 freedom fighters in Silêmanîyê’, Southern Kuristan. The exhibition was opened in Emne Süreke; a dungeon, and torture and execution center of dictator Saddam Hussein, which was converted into a museum after it was seized in the 1992 uprising.
Joey Lawrence made a short speech at the exhibition, which was attended by many writers and photographers. Jeoy stated that the Turkish state has censored his photographs and added that the Turkish state has imposed a ban on accessing personal pages.
Joey Lewrance’s book has been translated into two chapters this year. In the first part there are 250 Freedom fighters and in the second part there are photographs of Rojava, Western Kurdistan.
