DIRBESIYE, ROJAVA
The Jinwar Assembly made a written statement on the attacks of the invading Turkish state and its affiliated gangs since October 9 in Rojava and northern Syria.
Established and opened on 25 November 2017 in an area close to Dirbesiyê in the canton of Hesekê, the village of Jinwar is an only women’s village, where many women live with their children.
Jinwar Assembly stated that the attacks of the invading Turkish state towards the region targeted the Kurdish, Arab, Armenian, Assyrian, Assyrian women amongst many others. Evaluating the attacks of the invading Turkish state as an “occupation,” Jinwar Assembly underlined that FSA/SMO gangs affiliated to the occupying Turkish state attacked the people barbarically
The work continues despite the attacks in Jinwar
“In the 21st century, Jinwar Assembly noted that the peoples who demanded freedom were left face to face with genocide and said, “People’s reaction has been answered with violence and genocide attacks. But the reaction of the people still continues. Peoples living in the region are looking for solutions. Peoples here primarily use their self-defence.
The peoples are protecting the democratic system they have formed. In the democratic nation system, education, health, economy, goods and politics are tried to be kept alive. And this work continues despite the attacks. The village of Jinwar, which is a part of this system, takes its place in these studies. Health, economy, ecology, agriculture and animal care are continuing in Jinwar village.”
Women and children living here are in danger
Underlining the fact that the people living in Jinwar are under great threat due to the attacks, the Jinwar Assembly said: “Due to the occupation attacks, women and children in Jinwar and our village are in great danger. The sounds of warplanes, tanks and cannons are heard very close to our village. The attacks are taking place near our village.
The inhabitants of Jinwar who settled out of the war environment were once again confronted with war and attacks. Thus, many families had to leave the village. We hope that the attacks will stop as soon as possible and that our families leaving the village will return again.
Women living in the village are currently organizing their lives under difficult conditions, but despite all the difficulties our women here have actively participated in marches, funerals, rallies, explanations, patient visits and village visits. Many times they have toured the surrounding villages and the daily life routine is ongoing.
The health problems of women and children are particularly problematic.”
Meet me at Jinwar on November 25
“Announcing that Jinwar which was opened on November 25, International Day Against Violence Against Women, the assembly stated that activities will be held as every year. “We hope to meet with women on November 25 again in Jinwar against the massacre of women, the occupation, we will express our reaction to genocide and sexist attacks.
We will make today the day of women’s resistance. We are in our land, in our homeland. Where there is an ecological and democratic life is our homeland. Our language is multilingual, cultured, faithful and national. Everyone who defends this is with us.”
