The HPG Press Liaison Center made a statement on the guerrilla who was martyred in Wan on July 24th. The description of HPG is as follows:
“On July 24, there were clashes between our forces and the occupying Turkish army in Geliyê Zilan area of Erciş district of Wan. In these clashes, our friend Herekol who fought heroically against enemy troops reached martyrdom. The identity of our friend who reached the martyrdom is as follows:

Herekol – Halil Kaygusuz
Comrade Herekol, who was born in 1987 in Eruh district of Siirt, met the oppression reality of the enemy at a young age and emigrated with his family to Antep in 1996. Here the comrades of patriotism met the Freedom Movement while comrade Herekol led a search for a free and fair life.
While everyone he meets on this path becomes a part of him, the struggles to protect his essence and identity are strengthened. Comrade Herekol, in many areas of the revolution, lived with the hope and love of liberating his people. He carried the anger of stolen time and headed to the free mountains and joined the guerrilla ranks in 2007.”
Comrade Herekol has always shown great anger in the face of the attempts to eradicate reality: the pressure of the occupying Republic of Turkey on our leadership and our people. With the promise of revenge for every comrade, Herekol devoted himself to this cause. With this assertion and determination, he moved to Serhat area which is one of our harshest regions of the war in 2014. Here, he participated as a guerrilla for five years.
He has always embraced the life he has beautified with his love and devotion, his labour and humbleness, his simpleness and clearness, and with his discipline and military personality, he has participated in every field of life with his determination of hitting his enemy and taking revenge. With this awareness of responsibility, he has been successful in every task he has undertaken.
Comrade Herekol reached his last breath after an honourable statement, hitting the enemy up till his last moments, to the last breath. He made each bullet a shout of revenge in the clash against enemy soldiers in the Geliye Zilan area of Erciş.
We express our condolences to the patriotic people of Kurdistan, especially to the precious family of our comrade Herekol who reached martyrdom. We promise to accomplish our ideals of Free Kurdistan and Free Leadership, which are the ideals of all our martyrs of the revolution. ”
