Istanbul youth Members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) celebrated World Rojava Day on November 2 by hanging banners, followed by a march.
Young people took action on the busiest streets of the Okmeydanı district of Şişli, Esenler, Beyoğlu, Kadıköy, and Esenyurt. Banners reading “in the enlightenment of the revolution of Rojava, we walk on the path to a free life” and “from Istanbul to Kobane, the youth are everywhere with the enlightenment of Rojava.”
In the neighborhood of Haciahmet, Beyoğlu, other young people joined the action and held a rally after hanging banners, followed by a march. Here the youth were heard chanting “Rojava is our honour” and “a thousand greetings to the resisting peoples.” The occasion was celebrated with fireworks and ended with a call to all peoples to take responsibility of Rojava.
