ZURICH, SWITZERLAND
Protests took place in front of the German arms giant Rheinmetall’s office in Zurich, Switzerland. Rheinmetall is producing weapons for repressive regimes in many war zones of the world, from Kurdistan to Yemen, from Mexico to African countries.
To protest against the Rheinmetall company, which produces the weapons used by the fascist Turkish state in the invasion of Rojava, was organised by the youth of TCŞ (Revolutionairy Youth Movement) and JCA (Young Women’s Freedom Movement) who came together in front of the company office.
The young people opened a banner saying “Don’t allow the occupation,” and continued their activities for about an hour. Chanting slogans in German and Kurdish, the young people emphasised that the weapons sold to the fascist Turkish state takes the form of war crimes in Rojava, which such companies are ultimately a partner to.
Holding YPG and YPJ flags, the youth demanded that the company cancels all commercial treaties with Turkey.
Chanting “Terrorist Erdogan” and “Swiss weapons are killing people in Rojava,” the youth’s action was supported by many Swiss passersby, and was ended after stickers were attached on the windows of the company.
