The PAJK Coordination has shared a written statement about Çiçek Botan who was martyred in Dersim. The description of PAJK is as follows:
“Our comrade Çiçek Botan, one of the great commanders of the Kurdistan liberation struggle, fought to the end against the army of the Turkish state and was martyred with another young comrade, Dilgeş Botan. In the persons of comrades Çiçek and Dilgeş, we respectfully bow before the memory of all martyrs of the revolution, we extend our condolences to the families of our martyrs and all the people of Botan.
Comrade Çiçek was a pioneering, courageous, exemplary militant of the women’s struggle for freedom, who devoted a quarter of a century to the revolution, to the doctrine of Leader Apo. We salute an irreplaceable commander, a fearless warrior, an ambitious freedom militant, a strong-willed woman, and a comrade who had a deep place in the hearts of her comrades.
Patriotism, simplicity, fearless spirit, will, faith and free female nature became embodied in the character of comrade Çiçek who joined the freedom march in the mountains of Kurdistan 28 years ago.
Comrade Çiçek has put a lot of effort into women’s militarization and played a decisive role in the formation of self-defense and freedom awareness of Kurdish women and in the development of women’s militarization, which is the main force of their freedom.
She has contributed to the militaryization of women and shown great effort and labour in all stages of the developments which pioneer this struggle. Comrade Çiçek who is a PAJK militant committed to freedom, and a pioneer commander of YJA STAR, has taken all responsibility for the people and their organization, with sacrifice, humbleness, a determined and assertive stance, anger towards the enemy and a deep commitment to the Leadership.
It should be known that the martyrs party, created with the labor and spirit of our comrades and pioneers, will develop further in the footsteps of these comrades, will be locked in creating victory and will fight more powerfully for the sake of freedom.
The Turkish state, which is ready to destroy itself against the freedom of the Kurdish people, thinks that it will destroy the PKK. It continues to target the most valuable comrades of the guerrilla and the Kurdish people. It is living a delusion.
The Kurdistan guerrillas will create freedom with their unique resistance. The Kurdish people and its freedom militants will become thousands of Çiçeks, who will rise in these mountains, and seek revenge for comrade Çiçek and thousands of other free women.
Our people and women who are passionate about freedom should know that Comrade Çiçek came from an ancient tradition, ethics and culture and committed to these values and dedicated her life to the liberation of our people and Kurdish women. As PAJK, the women’s freedom party, we will stick to the memory of comrade Çiçek, the faithful militant of this case and the great warrior of the freedom line. We will enlarge all the values it fights for, increase the struggle, and free the Leadership and our people. We will bring women to the free life they deserve.
Freedom will win; slavery, surrender and all kinds of oppression will be destroyed.”
