QAMIŞLO, ROJAVA
A ceremony was held in Qamişlo for 8 SDF fighters who were martyred in the Cenga Rojava Resistance in Serêkaniyê.
Representatives of political parties, civic institutions, opinion leaders, religious leaders, Jizir Autonomous Administration delegation and thousands of people from Qamishlo attended the ceremony held at the Saruxan Cemetery under the leadership of the Martyr Families Assembly.
The names of the martyrs of the SDF fighters are as follows; “Abraham Zechariah (Ehemed Zîb), Mihemed xelefan (Lewend Qamişlo), Mihemed Masood (Koran Qamişlo), Dilbirin Hesen (Cegerxwîn), Azad hand (base Qamişlo), Mihemed Mihemed (Akif) and the Self-Defense Forces fighter Şivan Îbrahîm (Tekoşer Qamişlo).
During the ceremony, Kurdistan Freedom Movement fighter Isa Hisên (Cekdar Qamishlo) was declared martyred in Heftein.
Hewas Miflih, the uncle of the martyr Ibrahim Zechariah spoke at the ceremony and said: “We fought against ISIS gangs from 80 countries and thanks to our martyrs, we liberated the Syrian territory.
Erdogan claims that the SDF are terrorists. However, the SDF is formed of the children of Kurdish, Arab and Syriac peoples in northern and eastern Syria. Are we the terrorists? Our martyrs sacrificed their lives for a free and honourable life based on the philosophy of leader Öcalan. ”
YPJ fighter and martyr Şivan İbrahim’s aunt, Rûken İbrahim, said: “Today is the day of honour and resistance. Those who are conscious will win with this resistance.”
At the end of the ceremony, a member of the Assembly of Martyr Families, Rêvin Şêxmus, read the martyrdom documents of the martyrs and delivered them to their families. Participants of the ceremony then gathered at the tent established in the cemetery.
