The YPJ General Commandership commemorated Zîn Kobanê who had joined the YPJ ranks, organized in 2011, after the first sparks of the Rojava Revolution.
Zîn Kobanê, who defended her people from Derik to Efrîn, was raised on patriotism and the great efforts of her family. The past of Zîn Kobanê’s life was expressed as follows:
“Comrade Zîn, was one of the first locals to join the fight against ISIS. Comrade Zîn, who commanded the Sêrikaniyê war in 2013, showed great resistance to the opressors who aimed at launching the gangs of Al Nusra and ISIS.
Comrade Zîn has taken her place as a pioneer commander in many of our battles against ISIS. In the frontlines of Kobanê, Siluk, Şedadê and Minbic, Zîn fought with great courage in the moves against ISIS even after being injured in Kobane, this could not seperate her from the struggle. Zin never stopped, and the resistance grew with her hope. Under the command of our comrade Zîn, great efforts and costs were paid and great achievements were achieved.
As YPJ, the memories of our comrades in Shevin, Hebrew, Rosyar, Tekoshin, Avêsta and Zîn live in our minds and consciences. The responsibility of freedom increases with each of our martyrs. With this awareness and responsibility, we commemorate ZİN and all our martyrs with great respect and gratitude, and we promise to fulfill our honorable and free life.
On this basis, we commemorate the martyrs of the Revolution and the Resistance of Honor integrated with the witness of Martyr Zîn, and wish our wounded comrades urgent recovery. We would like to express our condolences to the family of Zîn and the peoples of North and East Syria. “
