YPJ General Commandership has released a statement on the immoral attack made to comrade Amara’s body by occupying Turkish state gangs in the Çelbê, Kobane, following an attack to the fighter’s positions.
“In the person of Comrade Barîn, Hevrîn and Amara, we commemorate all resisting women and again we repeat our promise to them.
Our fighters, who were in the positions of self-defense in the village of Çelbê of Kobanê, were subjected to heavy weapons attacks by the invading Turkish state and their gangs despite the cease-fire agreement on the evening of October 21. Our fighters responded to the attacks of Turkish state and gangs within the scope of defense rights. Comrade Amara and a group of fighters in the region have continued their resistance until the last moment.
The attack of Turkish state gangs on the body of Comrade Amara is a practice of ISIS gangs. Our fighters exhibited a sacrificing resistance on all fronts of the Resistance of Honor, especially Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî. This grudge of gangs is the result of the historical resistance of our warriors.
In order to destroy the traditional culture that is represented in the female person, the Turkish state, the gang state, activates barbaric practices towards the resistance women by the hands of the gang groups. The barbaric attack on the body of our comrade, Amara, is the true face of the Turkish state of fascism. Yesterday they targeted Barîn in Efrîn, today Hevrîn and Amara. These immoral and dirty practices are the result of Trump and Putin’s policies in Syria.
On this basis, we call on women and human rights institutions, especially women of the world, to show a clear attitude towards the practices of the Turkish state. The women of the world should be able to show the great support to the YPJ, which they see as their own struggle against ISIS gangs. We call on the international public and human rights institutions to take immediate action against the Turkish massacres of women.
These barbaric attacks will never undermine our determination in our will and legitimate rights. We are ready to give any price requested from us to be worthy of our comrades Amara, Barîn, and Hevrîn. We reiterate the promise of protecting all the social value and the Syrian revolution in northern and eastern Syria with all women.”
