On October 21, YPJ General Commandership made a statement regarding the torture inflicted on YPJ’s Çiçek Kobanê, who was wounded in the leg after a clash with Turkish gangs in the village of Mişrefa of Eyn Isa. The statement released is as follows:
“The invading Turkish army attacked the village of Mişrefa of Eyn Isa on 21 October at 21.00. In the clash between the gangs and our forces who responded to the attack, our comrade Çiçek Kobanê was wounded in the foot and captured by Erdoğan’s gangs.
Our comrade Çiçek, born in Kobane, also took part in the fight against ISIS gangs to defend her land and her people. With the same responsibility and awareness she took place in the Honor Resistance, on Eyn Isa front lines. Despite the ceasefire decision, the invading Turkish state and its affiliated gangs continue the invasion and genocide attacks without morals of war.
Our comrade Çiçek showed her determination against the brutal practices of the Turkish state and had said, “We will not allow the gangs to invade our villages and cities, or step on our dignity.”
The occupying Turkish state and its gangs are attacking the existence of women with the ISIS mentality. These brutal attacks are directed against all women of the world and women of North and East Syria in the person of Comrade Çiçek. The invading Turkish army wants to hide its defeat by sharing such photos and images.
Our comrade Cicek was wounded by the Turkish gangs. We address the whole world; this young friend’s life is in danger. The images shared by the gangs clearly reveal all the facts. These dirty practices are the result of agreements and policies between the US, Russia and the Turkish state.
On this basis, we point out that there is an urgent need to intervene by the international community. We call on women and human rights organizations to raise their voices against the brutality of the gangs of the Turkish state. To remain silent against these immoral practices means to be a partner to inhuman practices. Women must revolt against this attack on women’s dignity. ”
