We have understood a few of the conditions under which the attacks on northern and eastern Syria were permitted, along with the evolving process. One of them would be that should the Turkish president Erdogan succeeds in the operation in question, what will be done to the ISIS gangs. Erdogan has claimed that he would send those he could back to their countries, and the remaining would be imprisoned. However, this is not the first lie that Tayyip Erdoğan has told so comfortably.
This is a lie in addition to the lies told in the past. As a result of the talks in Astana, the Turkish State established 12 observation points in Idlib with the approval of the Russian-Iranian-Syrian trio to ensure control of the gangs. Before this decision was decided and the Turkish State began to establish observation points in Idlib, Erdoğan had assured that he would control the gangs in the region and that the gangs in the region would not cause any problems. Supposedly the gangs would be controlled, and no problems would be faced and even if they will be faced, he would deal with the problems himself. But did the Turkish State manage to control these gangs? Could these gangs stand in place without causing problems for Russia and Syria?
No. On the contrary, Russia and the Syrian regime had to operate in the region because they could not provide control in any way or fulfill the conditions of the agreement which allowed the establishment of observation points that the Turkish State could not take responsibility for. On the other side is Efrin. Let’s look at what the FSA gangs Erdoğan called the national army are doing in Efrin.
Since January 20, 2018, when attacks on Efrin were launched, thousands of people have been abducted by gangs in Efrin. Many of the abducted people haven’t heard from them yet, and many have been murdered by gangs. The olive fields belonging to the people living in the region were plundered; if the tribute requested by the gangs was not paid, the fields belonging to the family were either burned or the crop was confiscated. We also know that they have radically slaughtered many families just to confiscate their assets. Hundreds of young people have been kidnapped and there is no news of their fate. FSA gangs under the control of the Turkish State did all this with the support of the Turkish State. Can a state that immigrated hundreds of thousands of people, massacred hundreds of people and striving to change the demography, liberate even a home from the ISIS, the region, the city, the district, the village or the neighborhood? Why would an gang army stop the gangs?
What happened in Ezaz, Bab and Jarablus? The clashes between the gangs in Bab turned into a common situation. At least twice a week, gangs attack members of another gang group with bombs or motorcycles. The same situation in Jarablus, the same situation in Ezaz.
So does a Turkish State that cannot control or even want to control FSA gangs that have profiles that are too low to be even the younger siblings of ISIS, want to control ISIS?
Protected by the state authorities and official members of Turkey, DAESH is recieving financial support from active, Turkish associations. These associations were not previously closed, their names were changed and presented to the service of the AKP. So the people who are members of associations are the same, but the names of the associations have been changed.
During the period ISIS was active in Syria, they used Turkey as a corridor, they built friendly relationships with the Turkish State National Intelligence Agency, MIT. As confessed by gang members imprisoned by QSD, ISIS received financial and weapon support.
Additionally, what the Turkish state describes to be it’s “national army” is mostly formed of ISIS gang members who had fled to Turkey. This was previously exposed by the North and East Syrian Center for Strategic Studies and Syria Democratic Forces who had deciphered and published videos and images to prove this.
This brings us to two final questions. Would it be wrong if we call the Turkish state the ISIS state, directly? And why should the ISIS state protect people from ISIS?
