SDF Release Balance Sheet of Clashes on Day 4: 87 Turkish-Backed Terrorists Killed

The Press Office of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) released the balance sheet of clashes and bombardments in  Serêkaniyê, Amûde, Qamişlo, Dêrik, Hesekê, Kobanê and Girê Spî areas on 12 October, the fourth day of the Turkish military offensive to invade North and East Syria.

According to the statement, 87 members of Turkish-backed terrorist groups were killed on 12 October, while 31 SDF fighters and 4 civilians lost their lives.

The balance sheet announced by the SDF Press Office is as follows;

SERÊKANIYÊ:

The Turkish army struck the Zorava and Sina neighborhoods with airstikes and bombardments starting from early this morning. Clashes erupted in a school in the city and the attack was repelled following the retaliation of our fighters. Turkish forces’ attempt to enter the western neighborhood and to block the Til Temir road has been frustrated. In addition, the city was targeted by Turkish warplanes and artillery fire. During the fighting, 78 mercenaries affiliated with the Turkish army were killed and 29 others wounded, while 9 vehicles with heavy machine guns have been destroyed. 22 of our fighters fell as martyrs and 37 got wounded.

AMÛDÊ:

Turkish army attacked the Dirbêsiyê city with artillery fire. During the ensuing fighting with our fighters, 5 terrorists were killed and 3 others wounded.

QAMISHLO:

Artillery attacks against Qamishlo continued on the fourth day. A civilian was martyred in the attack against a park in the city.

DÊRIK:

Our fighters retaliated against the attacks on the Babil village and destroyed a heavy weapon. On the other hand, Turkish attacks killed a civilian.

HESEKÊ:

The attacks of ISIS sleeper cells have escalated in line with the Turkish incursion. An explosive laden vehicle was detonated near the gate of the prison in Xuweran neighborhood where ISIS mercenaries are held.

KOBANÊ:

In response to the attacks carried out from a base of the enemy, our fighters have destroyed a military base across Qultepe. One of our fighters was wounded in the village of Rajm al-Hilwa.

GIRÊ SPÎ:

Two villages have been taken from the invaders. The city and surroundings were constantly targeted by Turkish airstrikes and artillery attacks. Clashes continue across the city.

Six of our comrades were martyred as result of an airstrike on October 11.

Secretary General of the Syrian Future Party, Hevrin Khalaf was executed by Turkish backed mercenary factions on the International Road between Qamishlo and Manbij, where her driver who was also martyred. Our forces have cleared the area of the mercenaries.

On the other hand, actions carried out by our fighters killed three mercenaries and a Turkish soldiers on two sides of the city.

Turkish airstrike on Mabruka left three Asayish (Public Security) members dead and one other wounded, while contact has been lost with three other Asayish members. Another Asayish member was martyred in a separate air raid in another location.

A total of 87 mercenaries were killed and 32 others wounded during the fighting on October 12.

31 of our fighters fell as martyrs and 36 others wounded.

Havrin Xelef and three other civilians fell as martyrs.
