ISIS leader Ebubekir Al-Bagdadi, who was killed in Idlib on 27 October 2019 with the joint operation of the US and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), was in direct communication with Recep Tayip Erdoğan. This communication was organised by chairman of MIT, Hakan Fidan, and MİT Special Forces Department chief retired colonel Kemal Eskintan.

Slain ISIS leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was located in the village of Barisa during his execution. Barisa is 5km off the Turkish occupation borer, in Rojava, and is also currently being occupied by Turkey. It has been established that Baghdadi, killed in a joint-operation between SDF and US, had held numerous meetings with head of MIT Special Operations Department colonel Kemal Eskintan in Hatay.
Many activities, such as the transfer of arms, ammunition and fighters, was carried out by Kemal Eskintan during the war of Kobanê and later against YPG forces.
Kemal Eskintan is the key name in the communications between Ebubekir El-Bagdadi and Erdogan, as well as being the responsible for support to gangs, including ISIS.
Storage Conditions for Baghdadi Prepared
The Turkish state’s relations with ISIS and other gang groups have been documented many times in Syria. Erdogan and ally Baghdadi had prepared the conditions for hiding and resourcing ISIS through colonel Kemal Eskintan.
After his retirement from the army, Eskintan would be given the duty to ensure the safety of life and prooperty of VIP-level senior officials. After the defeat of ISIS in Syria, it has been exposed that Eskintan would be assigned to protect Baghdadi.
Who is Kemal Eskintan?
Retired Colonel Kemal Eskintan, otherwise known as Abu Furkan, is the head of MIT’s Special Forces Department. After Hakan Fidan would become undersecretary, Eskintan would retire from his status of chairman and be assigned as the Head of Protection Department in 2010. He would later become Head of Special Operations Department in 2014 and as Deputy Undersecretary of Special Operations in 2017.
Eskintan, the current head of the Special Operations Department, has emerged as the one who prepared and directed the failed assassination attempts against YPG commanders in Rojava.
As soon as Hakan Fidan became the undersecretary of MIT, Kemal Eskintan would be appointed to MIT and would quickly be appointed Deputy Undersecretary of Special Forces and is currently the president of the organisation. Eskintan also has dark past relations with Iranian intelligence and former partnerships with Iran. In addition, Eskintan is the name that has made Erdogan’s army SADAT (International Defense Consulting Trading Company) agree to the Syria and Iraq Donation Program.
A secret confession made on the SADAT states that: “The Retired Brigadier General Adnan Tanriverdi is determined to start a civil war. The massacre was assigned to Sadat Security Inc. The staff consists of the members of the 28 February massacre, ISIS and Al Qaeda. ”
What are MIT Special Activities?
Special Activities; MIT has a structure consisting of a Special Activities Department, Special Protection Department, Iran-Iraq Department, Logistics Support Department, Syria Department and Gaziantep Special Activities Department.
Special activities, in and outside Turkey, include fighting against the PKK from one branch, and citing the PKK on the other hand, to push an expansionist policy in the framework of AKP and Tayyip Erdogan’s ideology of Ottomanism. The most effected regions include Iraq, Syria, and Iran.
For this reason, the budget of the Special Activities within the MIT is higher than that of many MIT departments. If we add the arming of the Azerbaijanis in Iraq and Syria and recently in Iran, the establishment of armed groups in all these countries and their arming activities are carried out by Tayyip Erdoğan under this presidency.
The Special Activities Department, which implements many activities such as ammunition and warrior transfers, has a structure that keeps the AKP government and Erdoğan alive, this Special Activities Department forms the core of MIT. The department controls the relationships between ISIS and other gang groups in Syria, organised the Kobanê war and later created threats against the YPG forces.
MIT Special Activities carries out all activities in the Atatürk Forest Farm except for the Ankara / Yenimahalle campus and all activities are isolated from other MIT activities. All MIT’s secret arrest, abductions and interrogation activities are carried out here. Abducted people are brought here and questioned.
In addition to this campus of the Special Activities Presidency, there is a campus in Ankara, Pursaklar district which was allocated to the Special Activities Presidency by Melik Gökçek, the Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. This is where the trucks and ammunitions that will go to ISIS, Al-Nusra and other gang groups in Syria, ISIS in Iraq, Hashdi Watani, and Iraqi Turkmen Front depart from.
