KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency made a written statement about the agreement made between the Turkish state’s occupation in North East Syria.
The statement of KCK is as follows:
“As a result of their joint struggle against inhumane gangs such as Al Nusra and ISIS, all the peoples of North-East Syria with their Kurds, Arabs and Syriacs have established a democratic and libertarian system that will set an example for all Middle Eastern peoples. The AKP-MHP fascism, which has implemented genocide policy on Kurds, has been hostile to this democratic system since the beginning.
Previously, Al-Nusra and ISIS attacked this democratic system. The AKP-MHP fascist power, which saw the development of local democracy in North-East Syria, the Kurds’ gaining status and on this basis, seeing that the democratization of Syria would shake the fascist genocide systems, started an invasion attack on North-East Syria.
Resistance against the occupation received support that no resistance movement received
This invasion attack, which was carried out with all kinds of heavy weapons, faced a level of resistance that the AKP-MHP fascism did not expect. The peoples of the world and democratic public opinion stood up against this occupation and stood by the resistors. The Kurdish people and all their political forces stood up against this occupation with the spirit of national unity in all parts of Kurdistan. All the Arab countries and peoples have taken an open attitude to this occupation, with the exception of a spineless collaborative power like Qatar. Countries within the European Union also opposed the invasion and demanded that the Turkish army and gangs end this occupation. Except for the current Trump administration in the United States, all political forces and influential government bodies and public opinion opposed the occupation and put pressure on the Trump government.
The Turkish state has become more lonely than ever in its history; The resistance of the Kurds and the peoples of North-East Syria, paying great price, has received widespread support from the peoples and democratic public opinion for more than a hundred years. The occupation of the Turkish state was condemned to defeat from the outset with its unjust and illegitimate position; The Kurds and the peoples of North-East Syria have reached the position to win this war.
Resistance frustrated Trump and Erdogan conspiracy
This great moral support and legitimate resistance frustrated US President Trump and the fascist and anti-Kurdish Erdogan conspiracy against the peoples of North-East Syria and confronted them with great defeat. The resistance, the pressure of the peoples and the democratic public, has put US President Trump in a difficult situation in which no political leader has ever fallen into in history, after permitting the invasion by the genocidal fascist Erdogan. Erdogan-Bahceli, the fascist chief has been tossed into a vortex of political and diplomatic defeat from every angle.
The Trump administration tried to stop the war with a cease-fire to get out of this situation. In the face of the resistance of the SDF and the support it received, Trump would have experienced just as much exposure and isolation as Erdoğan, if the Turkish state had not stopped bombing the settlements by shelling and massacring hundreds and hundreds of civilians. In this environment, both the US and Turkey are in need of a ceasefire. In this way, they aimed to get rid of the difficulties they experienced in the face of resistance supported by the peoples of the world and the democratic public.
They cannot accept any option other than the withdrawal of the occupation
With the approval of Trump, it is understood that the North-East Syrian administration accepted this ceasefire in order to reveal the injustice of the occupation attack initiated by the anti-Kurdish fascist Erdoğan. Since there was an invasion attack and serious crimes against humanity, this ceasefire should not result in legitimizing the occupation, but rather the withdrawal of the occupation forces. Because the insurgents and the peoples of the world and the democratic public supporting this resistance aimed to end these invasion attacks and to withdraw the invaders altogether. In this respect, it is not possible for the insurgents and the democratic public to accept an option other than the withdrawal of the invaders.
It would only be meaningful if the cease-fire would lead to the withdrawal of the occupation.
The area of Syria which was the safest before the invasion was the area that was attacked. In this respect, the occupation forces must be withdrawn for security and peace. After the talks of the US and Turkish state delegations, it is incomprehensible to ask for the withdrawal of SDF forces.
In this respect, the agreement of the US delegation, except for the cease-fire, has neither political nor moral legitimacy. The dirty war forces of the AKP-MHP fascist government in North-East Syria continue their attacks after the declared ceasefire, revealing that the cease-fire is aimed at rescuing Trump and Erdoğan from the difficult situation. Fascist and anti-Kurdish Erdogan has already made clear what they intend to say that they have achieved their first targets with the occupation attack and that they will intensively continue their attacks if their invasion is not accepted. In this respect, the peoples of North-East Syria, world peoples, and the democratic public should not loosen their resistance positions and should continue their struggle until the invaders leave North-East Syria altogether.
Truce; it would only be meaningful if it was taken as a process that would lead to the withdrawal of the invaders and would be instrumental in taking these directional steps.
The crimes of humanity committed by the Turkish state cannot be ignored
The war crimes committed by the Turkish state during the occupation cannot be ignored. Turkish warplanes used the forbidden weapons they used in the Media Defense Areas, in the invasion of North-East Syria. In this respect, the peoples of the world and human rights institutions should ask the dirty war chief Erdoğan and the other responsible people for the murder of civilians and the use of forbidden weapons. Otherwise, other crimes against humanity will be paved and humanity will not live in security and peace.
Efforts should be made for the formation of Syria’s democratic unity
The Turkish state’s aim for the territorial integrity of Syria has also become clear once again with the occupation attack. The Turkish state wants to be effective in reshaping Syria through the places it occupies. The Turkish state opposes the deployment of the Syrian army on the state borders and threatens to attack the agreement of the North-East Syrian administration with the Syrian state, which wants autonomy and unity of Syria.
The attitude of the UN, Russia, the United States and the European Union should first of all oppose these accounts of the Turkish state and help to facilitate the agreement between the autonomous administration of North-East Syria and the Syrian state. Syria’s democratic unity, democracy and political stabilization in peace requires that this attitude be displayed in the first place.
Undoubtedly, it is very important for the peoples of the world and the democratic public to oppose this attitude of the Turkish state aiming to prevent the democratic unity of Syria and to strive for the formation of the democratic unity of Syria in peace and democracy.
Let’s raise the struggle against occupation
The cease-fire is important to stop this dirty war; this ceasefire should be the beginning of the process of the total termination of the occupation, which abolishes the security and peace environment in North-East Syria. Otherwise, the cease-fire would be no more than a game like the ‘Safe Zone’ that was previously agreed upon to destroy and sustain the demands of the peoples and democratic public to repress the occupation.
The declared ceasefire; If the occupation operation in North-East Syria is terminated and it provides a development in the direction of the total withdrawal of the occupation forces, it will reach its purpose. For this reason, it is very important that the peoples of the world, democratic public opinion, states and political forces opposing the occupation, the Arab League and all Syrian people and the people in the four parts of Kurdistan continue to support the attitude and resistance of the people against the occupation. We urge all these forces to expand and increase their struggles in order to achieve a democratic system on the basis of peace and stability, especially in North-Eastern Syria.
The peoples of North-East Syria and the SDF have made such a ceasefire with their honorable resistance in the face of heavy attacks. We believe that they will end the occupation with their resistance and that they will achieve the democratic unity of Syria on the basis of a democratic North-East Syria.”
