HPG Press Liaison Center stated that their forces organized actions against the occupying Turkish army in memory of Beritan (Gülnaz Karataş) who was immortalized on 25 October 1992 and did not surrender to cooperation. The details of the actions taken in this context, are as follows:
“Within the scope of the ongoing Cenga Heftanin Revolutionary Movements against the invading Turkish army, actions were carried out in the Heftanin region from the Media Defense Areas:
At 3 pm on October 19, our YJA Star forces organized an assassination against occupation soldiers located on the Hill of Conference. One soldier was killed.
At 08.50 on 20 October, our YJA Star forces organized an action against occupation soldiers in the area between Vacip Hill, Geliyê Pisaxa area and Conference Hill of Qileban (Uludere) district of Sirnak. In this action, in which an enemy vehicle was destroyed, the number of dead and wounded enemies could not be determined.
After the action, cobra-type attack helicopters were targeted by our forces. One of the cobra helicopters, which were put under intense fire, was hit and had to move away from the area.
On October 21, at 14.00, our YJA Star forces carried out an action against the occupying soldiers in the Şehit Şêxmus area. 1 soldier in the enemy unit was effectively killed.
On 21 October, our forces organized actions within the scope of the ongoing Martyr Bager and Martyr Ronya Revolutionary Movements against the occupation operation launched in the Xakurkê region from the Media Defense Areas. In this context:
At 08:30, our YJA Star forces targetted enemy units located near the Koordine Hill, where they had been under surveillence for a long time. Six enemy soldiers were killed in this enemy unit, where enemy positions and shelters were intensively fired at close range from two separate branches. The invading forces then randomly fired the surrounding areas with heavy weapons.
At around 10:00 am, our forces organized an action against the soldiers on the Martyr Botan Hill. 1 enemy soldier was killed in this action where the enemy unit on the hill was intensely fired.
At 18.50, our forces organized a series of assassination actions against the soldiers on Şehit Derweş Hill. Two enemy soldiers, who were hit on the hill with full accuracy and were killed. ”
