The imprisoned members of PKK and PAJK reacted against the invasion of Rojava and northern Syria by the occupying Turkish state. İsyan Kaya made a written statement on behalf of the prisoners, pointing out that an attack on Rojava and Northern Syria was launched on the anniversary of the international conspiracy against the Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Ocalan which was made on 9 October 1998. The statement said, “If the State wanted to give the death penalty to the leader of Democratic Confederalism, Abdullah Öcalan, on the anniversary of the hanging of Sheikh Sait, that is, on June 29, that the Kurdish people would never be free and that they would always lose their pioneers; today he wants to remind these events in the invasion attacks against Rojava.”
‘All Kurds should portray a stand’
The statement stated that the Kurdish people and their friends, the oppressed peoples of Syria, should see the occupation of the Turkish state, “the psychological war and resist on the basis of moral-political values. With this invasion attack, the Turkish state clearly knows that the existence of the Kurdish people, all kinds of gains and status, even at the other end of the world, will be known; the enemy builds its existence on the extermination of the Kurdish people.
All Kurds, especially the people of Bakur, have to see this life-and-death situation, to understand the fact of the national destruction that they face and to portyray a stand. Sitting at home is waiting for others to fight and defend the Kurds. It is blindness to perceive the war only against Rojava and to not relate it to ones own future. While this destruction attack is taking place on the Kurdish people, insisting that one can live without putting a hand under the rock, is surrendering to the system. The Kurdish people have to understand that they can defend their existence and dignity as a whole by resisting as a whole.
‘There was no problem among the peoples’
The democratic system built in northern Syria is a source of hope for the peoples of the Middle East and humanity by showing that all peoples can live together freely. Only those who want to dominate by breaking the unity of peoples can be enemies.
So far there have been no problems between the Kurdish people and other peoples in Syria, there is not conflict with the Syrian people’s democratic union or with the peoples of Turkey. Such problems have not been experienced in society, and there is no reason that they will arrise. The SDG forces naturally establish diplomatic ties with the world forces in the field to fight gangs and defend their territory and seek their assistance.
‘War is not in the interest of the peoples’
The reality remains however that Turkey, the society, must see clearly see this and stand against the fake nationalists misusing power. On the one hand, the United States is providing weapons to SDG forces and on the other hand encouraging the Turkish army to invade Northern Syria. The community should see this contradiction; the AKP-MHP is one with the US government, society should not allow these minds to make a mockery of our peoples.
It must be realised that the sovereign of the world aims to dominate the Middle East with such conflicts and that these wars hold no interests for the people.
Outside of the extensions of the United States and Turkish State, the democratic structure in Syria is not against the people of Turkey but instead promotes the brotherhood of peoples. This should be known, seen and an attack against this should be opposed. Otherwise the future of Turkey will be lodged in a quagmire of war, were children are sacrificed. At this point there will be no escape.
‘No technic can destroy our organized power’
No technic, no army can destroy the united, organized resistance of the peoples. Rojava has proved this thousands of times. Kurdistan, the Kurdish people and all democratic forces must build national unity; the oppressed peoples of the Middle East, especially the people of Turkey, have an interest to ensure the victory of this war; we call upon the humanity of the world to adopt the human dignity and take an attitude.
As PKK-PAJK prisoners, we will continue to be the protectors of our people alongside our people as we did yesterday. Just as the interstate conspiracy in 1998 had to recede by the stance of the Halit Orals, Kurdi and the Rotindas from the fire, it can still be overcome by the revolutionary unity of people and total resistance. As peoples and oppressed, we are more powerful and conscious than ever. We are right and we will win!
As prisoners we are primarily making a call to the Turkey and international public, intellectuals, democratic institutions and others; we will be the voice of our people against those who benefit from those who support the occupation and fascism like the CHP; We will deepen our attitude according to the developments. We believe in the power, essence, and rightfulness of our peoples. Moral-political society will gain truth, democratic political line and peace. Even if we have to fight for it, we will win. ”
