GENEVA
At 7:40 am, a 31-year-old Kurdish male named Egîd from Rojava Kurdistan set fire to his body in front of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
The United Nations building in Geneva quickly intervened, and the wounded male was airlifted to a hospital in Lausanne.
Although the official reasons for the action has not yet been clarified, Geneva police spokesman Silvain Guillaume-Gentil said ““He is a Syrian Kurd, born in 1988 and a resident in Germany. We think the reason is the current political situation.”
